Problem with iPhone 7Plus, lightning to audio connector and inline controls

Just purchased a new iPhone 7 Plus and understand that it no longer has a earphone jack. I have a pair of Bose In-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones which have inline controls for voice/mic, volume etc. However when connected to the adapter and plugged into the lightning connection and listen to music, the controls don't work. Have others found this as I'm surely not the only one with this problem? The sound is fine, but controls not working, concerned the mic doesn't work either. It's my primary use of earphones for meetings and teleconferences.

Thoughts?

Bryan

I have this issue where the mic on the lightning headphones that came in the box with an iPhone 7 doesn't work when plugged in and then after a while I receive a call. The caller cannot hear me. I have to unplug then plug back in and then the caller can hear me. I have updated to 10.0.2 latest update and still experiencing this issue for most calls. I leave the headphones plugged in...then a call comes same issue time and time again. I have contacted Apple about this. Not heard anything. This is a serious issue - anyone else still getting this. Please note this is not even using the lightning to 3.5 mm jack - this is an iPhone 7 with out the box headphones.

My iPhone7 is running 10.1.1 and when I plug my Bose headphones into my phone, people can't hear me talk. I can hear them and I can hear my music, but the outsource audio doesn't work. If you plug your headphones half way into the adapter and you wait for the electric current to pop five times, then plug them in, they will work, but you can't control answering or volume from the cord.

There's an issue here and it needs to be fixed!
