Problem with iPhone 7Plus, lightning to audio connector and inline controls

Just purchased a new iPhone 7 Plus and understand that it no longer has a earphone jack. I have a pair of Bose In-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones which have inline controls for voice/mic, volume etc. However when connected to the adapter and plugged into the lightning connection and listen to music, the controls don't work. Have others found this as I'm surely not the only one with this problem? The sound is fine, but controls not working, concerned the mic doesn't work either. It's my primary use of earphones for meetings and teleconferences.

Thoughts?

Regards,

Bryan

I am now having this issue but. Leaving headphones in, the headphones randomly shut off and music starts playing from the phone speakers. I unplug and plug back in but nothing happens. I have barely had the home since the 8th of January 2017 so I am a bit frustrated, I doubt it is a software issue, even rebooting the phone has no effect. I'm thinking a component is burning out, not a software issue because if it was a bug I would have encountered it the first week of use. Mainly music. Today is the day it started and I came here looking for solutions. Seems there isn't one....1000 dollars on a iPhone 7plus and we can't even use headphones because you guys probably want to push your expansive airports on everyone and this is maybe your game plan, your way to transition us all away from our own headsets and bring back that touch of proprietaryness you guys have been known for, I came from the Samsung family and I swore by their flagships(note's and notepro tablets) and I decided to switch, I still have my note 5 and no issues listening to music on it for the past 2 and a half years. This is a very bad first impression Apple, I would really like a solution as music is a big part of the apple brand(iTunes) what is the point in not having a working audio jack when music is like The soul of he iPhone? Oh that's right you guys came out with EarPods and needed a way to sell them? Or am I just paranoid?

Hi

Seems nothing has changed have a 7 Plus and same audio problem. Went to apple hey replaced headset. Next call same problem had to unplug headset and back in to allow caller to hear me.

If I go back to apple they will just replace headset and phone. I don't have time to waste doing this on a phone three weeks old and on a fault over 1 year old. Tried restoring and still a problem. Is there any fix for this?

I have the same problem with my iPhone7, when you unplug the jack and plug it in again it wil work.

After setting the music off with the control, you can put it on again, but when you wait to long but when waiting to long it will not respond any more till you unplug and plug the jack in again.

I have contacted support and it seems to be a software bug.

The say restore the phone ore wait till the first update of IOS10

I have the same issue with the lightning headphones that come in the box. I have noticed that I can hear a "disconnect" in the headphones after a bit of idle time. I have considered that this is a power saving feature.

The only fix right now, that I know of, is to unplug and plug them back in. This is especially annoying when you have answered a phone call and they can't hear you since the mic is "disconnected"
