Iphone 7 and 7 plus's screen dimmer/yellowish than iphone 6 and 5s

Hi,

Is anyone facing the same issue as me when looking at their new iphone 7/7plus?

I noticed both the 7 model's screen resolution were more yellowish and dimmer than the previous models even though all of them had their brightness set to the maximum.

Does anyone have any idea why is it like that? Thanks!

Under every circumstance the iPhone 7 Plus display is visibly dimmer than my iPhone 6 Plus display, side-by-side, with the exact same settings. I brought it in to an Apple service center. They agreed and we tried an exchange, but the exchanged iPhone 7 Plus was even darker than the first one. I am in touch with Apple trying to figure out what to do. The iPhone 7 Plus screen isn't bad. But it is definitely dimmer - not brighter - than the iPhone 6 Plus, which is annoying, since it's advertised as being 25% brighter.

Hello there, I'm experience the same issue with the yellowish tint. I went to the Apple Store multiple times and spent few days in order to get it fixed. I went thru 3 devices already (iPhone 7+) and they are all looks the same. The store manager told me that the demo devices at the apple store are made to be "brighter". What a joke! I pulled up my wife's iPhone 6s+ and proved him wrong.

I will be back tomorrow for my 4th replacement, if so it's stays the same - I will have to return my iPhone and look for a better solution. I wasn't paying 930$ for a defective dim device that "supposed" to be brighter.

Okay everyone. We have established that this is just how the phones are. Getting replacements is just a waste of your time. If you really cant stand the phone just return it and in a short 10 months you can get the 10th anniversary model. Personally im keeping my 7 plus even though the display is a disappointment i do believe it also has its upsides. For starters it is easier on my eyes and i look at the thing all day so that is a big deal. Also, the battery is a lot better (probably because of the dimmer display). Anyway, it isn't so bad after a couple of weeks. And seriously quit with the glue needing to dry myth. That is what they tell because they know in a week your eyes will adjust and eventually you notice a lot less. I hope this helps settle some people down who are ****** off. I am too but it is what it is. Its not going to change. Spare yourself the stress and get your money back or just sell it in 10 months.

I don't think the battery is better.

On principle I would just return mine, but here in Japan there is a no return policy (unlike the U.S. where there is a 14 day return policy).

I will wait to see what Apple Support comes up with by the end of the week. But if it can't be as advertised I would rather revert back to using my iPhone 6 Plus for another year.

I found a fix for the yellow tint !

I think it's because i restore an older iphone backup (6s), to fix the yellow tint, i used to play with the tint setup (around 60%) of :

Go to Settings / General / Accessibility / Display Acommodations / Color Filters

But ! At full brightness, if you set the blue/yellow filter to max, and to min and try other filters too (max/min), when you turn the color filters off, the yellowish just gone ....... i try it with my wife phone and it's also work !

It's clear it's an os bug now for me ...

Hi,

I bought iPhone 7 last week. After 2 days of usage when I compared with my older iPhone 6, I found out a **** and heaven difference in terms of display brightness and camera. The display z throwing huge amount of yellow tint and its camera is way dimmer than iPhone 6. After visiting service center and getting the phone software update they Somehow told like the issue is resolved. But still m not convinced about it.

Apple should consider this factor seriously as many of us are undergoing deep regression for upgrading to 7. What about the advertisement of 7 mp FaceTime camera and 25% brighter display.

Seriously...never expected this kind of service from Apple....

I totally agree with you. Coz after getting used to Apple's earlier model, we should not compromise the quality in a upgraded model like iPhone 7.

What about the commitment of 25% brighter display and 7 mp FaceTime camera ???

My iPhone 6 camera which is having 1.2mp is way better than this so called 7 mp FaceTime camera in iPhone 7

Seriously m totally disappointed.. I trust Apple will consider this for Its customers....
