i I just upgraded to the iPhone 7 and when I am talking to people on the phone, i am getting complaints that my voice sounds muffled. Is there anyway to fix this?

Is there anything covering the microphone?
All new iPhone's out of the box have a plastic cover protecting the screen during transit. Did you remove it?
It is more muffled on speaker with or without a case. There isn't anything covering the microphone part.
I actually tried multiple things (called applecare, reset phone, turned phone on and off) with no luck and had researched all day long and found nothing about it.
Right before I was about to do a return and replace for my iPhone 7+ through apple, I rummaged through the settings app and found a setting which fixed my issue, which sounds similar to yours.
I had to to turn on the Hearing Aid Mode switch which turns off the Phone Noise Cancellation switch.
HOW TO:
Go to Settings / General / Accessibility / Hearing Devices / - and turn on the Hearing Aid Mode switch, which then turns off the Phone Noise Cancellation switch.

I agree and they act like I am the only one when I call.
Same issue here with iPhone SE, 10.3.3. Callers will hear me well if I switch to speaker.
