Bluetooth contact sync in iOS 10 not working properly

Hello,

I have an iPhone 6S and just upgraded from iOS 9.x to iOS 10. Previously, when synchronizing contacts via Bluetooth with my car's handsfree system, the phone number type information (Home, Work, Mobile, etc.) was transferred, enabling the car's system to differentiate between a contact's multiple phone numbers. In iOS 10, however, the number type information doesn't seem to be transferred anymore so I end up with multiple phone numbers for each contact with no indication of which number is mobile, which is home, etc.

If anyone from Apple is reading this, can you please pass it on to the proper department?

Thanks,

Nick

Apple is not here, you can be sure they will read by sending them a feedback:

Before iOS10, I did used to see all of my Groups listed under All Contacts. I could select exactly which groups I wanted to sync to the car. I had one group just for the car, containing a selected number of addresses, which sync'd very quickly. Now, with All Contacts the only group option, it takes ages sync'ing the many many contacts I have on my phone. This is what I see now (below).

You see, I don't see the Show Notifications check, since my vehicle does not support the MAP protocol. As indicated in this post, and in others regarding Bluetooth profiles, Apple supports the Bluetooth standards and has to keep their software up to date. As those standards change, the ability to do certain things can change, and vehicle manufacturers are provided with copies of the software updates and are supposed to update their units, or advise their customers that their units do not comply with the latest versions of Bluetooth. You should complain to the vehicle manufacturer to keep up with the times, or to provide you with updates to your unit.

I have the same issue. iPhone 7 with iOS 10 on 2009 BMW X5 4.8. I created a special contact group in the iPhone / iCloud. That group had about 300 contacts whereas the "All Contacts" list has over 2000 contacts. That group still shows under Groups in Contacts and in the Phone app, but it now longer shows on the iPhone Bluetooth connector that connects to the car in Settings/Bluetooth. Now it tries to sync all contact, but some of them sync up, and others don't. And its difficult to say which of them sync or don't. Its a shame (on Apple). Why try to fix something that was not broken? It worked fine with iOS9 on iPhone 5s.
