Question

ios 10 Iphone won't connect to DHCP wifi

Upgraded IPhone 6 to IOS 10 and now the phone will not connect to my BT Home Hub 5. All other devices will, even another phone which has IOS 10.

The Phone recognises the router password, puts a blue tick against the connection but no wifi signal appears and it stays on 3G/4G.

If I look at the DHCP information on the phone it is all blank which is wrong.

I've checked on the router and the phone is not showing as connected.

I've reset router etc.

I've reset the network connections on the phone, plus hard reboots etc.

I'm at a loss, please help!

Hi everyone,

I found a post on this and it basically said reset your network connections

settings, general, reset, reset network settings, reboot, apple logo, stuff, fixed..

Since i have done this no issues with Wifi

SOLUTION: On your iPhone 6, go to

>settings >General (scroll down to bottom) > Rer

I've been having exactly the same problems after updating to ios10 on my iPhone6. I live in London and my ISP is British Telecom. I'm on a BT Hub6 and the Hub shows me connected to the iPhone AND the iPhone shows I am connected to the Hub (dual band router.) But the DHCP block on the iPhone refuses to populate. So I used the 'static' fix and that results in an immediate working connection.

What I don't understand:

(a) Is this a BT Hub problem with IOS 10? (all our other IOS devices NOT on ios10 are fine).

(b) Is this an IOS10 problem when connecting to a BT Hub?

(c) Is this an iPhone 6 problem when on iOS10 and connecting to a BT Hub?

(b) And how do we bring it to the attention of BT/Apple in order that they bring in a proper fix?

settings >General >(scroll down to bottom) > Reset >Reset Network Settings

Click Reset Network Settings and put in your password.

Once it restarts, you will have to re put in your wifi password, and then it will be fixed.

Go to your iPhone settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Click Reset Network Settings and let it restart. You will have to re enter your wifi code in settings > Wifi

This should fix everything right up

I don't know if you've solved this or not, but I had the same issue.

I reset my router, nothing.

Reset my iPhone, nothing.

Forgot network, nothing

Reset iPhone wifi settings, nothing.

Eventually, I had to FLUSH out all the DHCP devices from my Home Hub Network. Apparently my wifi can only lease so many minutes for each device, once you flush it out, it resets the time. My iPhone instantly worked after that. It could be a similar issue.

Can you connect to other Wi-Fi networks outside your home?

If not, and to rule out a software issue, set it back to factory settings, without using the latest backup. Set up the personal details manually, then test the Wi-Fi connectivity.

I can connect to other Wi-Fi networks outside my home. It is only the home one since the update onto IOS 10.

If the phone can connect to other Wi-Fi networks outside, you should check the router settings and also compare the settings of the other phone to the iPhone 6.

I've seen a similar issue. My GF's Iphone 6 (still on iOS 9.3) won't for the love of good recognize her WIFI. Not even manually entering the SSID helps. My own Iphone 6 plus has no such issues and connects just fine.

Her phone works fine on my WIFI.

Her router is an older Netgear.

Hi,

DId all of that and settings on the router haven't changed. The phone is the same as the other devices which connect just fine. This all happened straight after the IOS 10 update. I'm clueless about how to solve it.

I haven't done this, no. I'm a little reluctant to go to this level but I'm not really going to have much choice.

Interestingly it connect twice last night for approx. 30 mins each time and once again this morning. No reason, just noticed it was showing a wifi connection. It has since lost the connection though.

Hi,

Did you manage to resolve this issue? I have exactly the same, which randomly started yesterday 2 days after I upgraded to IOS 10! Tried resetting hub, restoring network preferences on my phone, etc - nothing, still won't connect to my BT homehub. Be great to know if you found a solution.
