ios 10 Iphone won't connect to DHCP wifi

Upgraded IPhone 6 to IOS 10 and now the phone will not connect to my BT Home Hub 5. All other devices will, even another phone which has IOS 10.

The Phone recognises the router password, puts a blue tick against the connection but no wifi signal appears and it stays on 3G/4G.

If I look at the DHCP information on the phone it is all blank which is wrong.

I've checked on the router and the phone is not showing as connected.

I've reset router etc.

I've reset the network connections on the phone, plus hard reboots etc.

I'm at a loss, please help!

This is due to Apple messing up the DHCP option 55 device fingeprinting.

Many wifi ap's use device fingerprint to allow access to dhcp using what is call a "walled garden" ios 10 has a fingerprint that many of the ap's do not recognize. A test would be if you do not seem to be on wifi..open your browser and then go back to any app..you will likely be on wifi now because if device fingerprint fails most ap's will fall back to approved browsers finger print. Thanks Apple for messing this up for all wifi vendors. They will need to publish updates to their ap's to include the new ios 10 fingerprint.

Wow, thank you all so much for this thread.

My 5S started intermittently dropping out on the home wifi Saturday evening. I was even getting an orange message under my wifi name stating 'no internet connection' which I've never seen before. was initially not allowing me to connect to any other wifi but did eventually connect to the BT FON open one thankfully.

Everything else connecting to it fine. Android, TV, windows phone, pcs husbands ipad etc.

Connected it to iTunes and it immediately said there was an update to 10.2 so popped it on figuring it would sort it but still no.

Did the usual, rebooted router (BT HH4) many, many times. Reset network settings on my phone. Apple support chat yesterday decided a reset of the phone would cure it.

Did that this evening and nothing still.

Logged into the router, deleted the iPhone from the connected list. Nope,

Finally gave up and had to reset the router to factory settings and yes, I am typing from my own wifi connection again.

This is an apple issue and judging by all the other people who are having the same problem I'm guessing there will be an IOS 10.2.1 in the next day or two.

Bloody irritating though. I've spent hours faffing about with this tat.
