iPhone 7 - Keeps Freezing!!!

I have just taken on the iPhone 7. I have noticed a couple of issues:

1) Freezing: When I open, contacts or whats app... it just stays on that screen. The lock button, or home button does not work. This will last for about 1.5 minutes!!!! Then the phone will be ok, but may take a few pictures ... this is maybe me pressing the lock and home button together

2) Camera - a lot of the times when I open the camera, I get just a black screen where the camera is, then after a couple of seconds my camera comes on....

Has any one else had these issues, and any help with it? I presume its an ios issue rather than a phone issue?

Continue to hold the Power button and press and hold the Volume down button located on the left side of your iPhone. Hold both buttons as the iPhone powers off and back on; release both buttons when the Apple logo appears on the screen.

My iPhone 7 keeps freezing as well: I will be in the middle of a task/game and the whole phone just stops responding. The screen doesn't work, none of the buttons work. I just seen how to hard start the phone since they changed it. Maybe I'll try that next time and it will work. If not, I'll definitely be back to update my response!

I also have problems with my voicemail not wanting to play the first couple of times of trying to play them. The voicemail will start to play and stop, play for a few seconds and stop, or play halfway and stop. It will eventually play completely after multiple attempts.

With my iWatch, I have the 1st edition and with the connection to my iPhone 7, after using my maps app to get directions to a location, the directions seem to linger on my watch and will continue to pop up even after removing it from my screen.

I am having all of the issues mentioned here. (Blank camera, frequent freezing on notifications screen/lock screen, having to hard reset). I was hoping 10.1 would fix but if anything it has gotten WORSE!

I will add the issue that frequently App Store just refuses to Update apps without any message until I restart.

Additionally, other iDevices sometimes cannot see my Personal Hotspot.

Today I had to restart 3 times in a row before I could approve a push notification I needed for work. What a disappointment!

I did not setup as new phone (used iCloud backup from iPhone 5S), but seeing as how others all have the issues I'm not going to bother to re-setup.

Turning off Background App Activity for most apps seemed to help somewhat, but by no means fixes these many issues.

I'm having an identical problem on an iPhone 7 Plus. It's also becoming more frequent. Basically all of the buttons (home, lock, volume, mute/unmute) stop working for about 1-2 minutes. During this time any buttons do not register their command, but the app that is open is still working normally. Then suddenly all of the buttons register their clicks rapidly and the phone goes haywire for about 10 seconds (taking pictures, altering the volume, locking/unlocking). it feels like a software bug, would appreciate if anyone gets to the bottom of this.

Same issue. X's THIRD device (i7 128g).

Cannot believe this issue continues to plague. Had I not traded in my i6s - i'd jump back to it. Apple and Verizon have both indicated they are aware of the issue - but no resolution exists. Annoying. Freezes constantly when toggle from contacts to voicemail to recent calls.....Similarly, black screen when you try to launch the camera.....

All three replacements were setup as NEW device. Apple indicated it was a "corrupt backup" - but even setting up as a new device has been without resolve! Hello Cupertino??? Anyone home???

I too am on my third device and the issue remains. This has really shaken my confidence in Apple. I have an iPhone 7. Apple replaced it once and I set it up as a new device and downloaded apps fresh and the issue persisted. Yesterday I went in for another Genius bar appointment. The rep was very nice. He ran the hardware diagnostics and the iPhone 7 failed the camera test. He showed me the results. I explained that the camera was working fine. He noted I already had one replacement but went ahead and replaced it again I guess because of the hardware issue. He said to set it up as a new device. I ran it at first with just Apple apps but the phone froze again this morning and again later in the day. I really don't know what to do.

bpcp1 says Apple has acknowledged the issue but I have not seen that.

I love Apple but at the same time I am a heavy user of Google services and am considering getting a Pixel on a second line and running both devices to see which I like better.

What bothers me is that my brand new iPhone 7 restarts on its own but Apple's diagnostics don't indicate the cause of the crash.

I never thought Apple was perfect but I am not even sure if help is on the way.
