iOS10 WiFi Keeps forgetting hidden network

I am on iPhone 5S iOS version 10.0.1 on T-Mobile network. At my work place we have hidden wifi network. It was working fine. But after my upgrade to iOS 10, the phone keeps forgetting the hidden network every time it goes another wifi network (say at home). My other colleagues who has iPhone 6 or 6s does not have any issues. Any help is appreciated.

10.2 may fix it but when I last looked there was nothing indicated int the patch notes to suggest hat it will. As yet I can see no documented case where Apple have even admitted to there being a problem caused by iOS 10 in this matter.

We decided to un-hide our business network in 350 retail outlets which from an aesthetic point of view is not what we would wish our Customers to see, but we felt we had no option because the issue had grown to impact hundreds of our iPad and iPhone users.

As anticipated, un-hiding the network resolved the connectivity problem for users that had seen this issue.

If and when Apple get off the fat behinds and fix the issue then we'll consider whether we re-hide again.

I have spoken with Apple support about this and they are very sketchy about it, the chap i spoke to suggested their technical team are aware and working on it but he did say they do not have any information about it.

I hope that more and more people can reply to this to hopefully get their attention as it is quite clearly a wide spread issue.

It would also be nice if this thread was not marked as solved when it clearly is not.

We have decided to un-hide our SSID across our organisation this morning and it has indeed fixed the issue. All devices we have checked so far have reconnected (didnt need to re-enter key so by looks of it the profile is partially remembered by the device).

This bug does need addressing by Apple, company's should not be forced to have to do this regardless of whether or not hidden networks are more or less secure.

This problem has now cost me money. I have forgotten to check my wifi connection and used cellular data too many times. I used all of my data this month and got an overage charge from my carrier.

This really *****, Apple - and the fact that it isn't a problem with iPhone 6 makes me think you are intentionally using this to force users off of iPhone 5 when they have perfectly good phones. You'll get your wish. There will be some good sales on Android phones this holiday season. Bye bye.

This is a possible short term work-around. Please see my post from Nov. 3 about forgetting then re-entering the information for a hidden network. This solution worked for me for about 16 days, the iphone reconnected to my home's hidden wi-fi network every time. After about 16 or so days, it stopped reconnecting. I followed the same steps - go into wi-fi settings and re-enter the network name to get the network to connect; tell the wi-fi settings explicitly to forget the network; power down then restart the phone; go into wi-fi settings and add the hidden network. I did this three or four days ago and the phone has been consistently reconnecting. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has tried this and if it is working for them. Again, this solution was first suggested by mcgowan.

This isn't a fix to the problem, Apple still needs to get off of their collective butts and fix whatever they broke to cause this problem to happen.
