No signal iPhone 7 plus

I Was able to find an iPhone 7 plus black, worked well all day went to sleep and next morning no cell signal actual message was No Service. Tried resetting network services, remove the SIM card, resetting the phone. Tried same sim in another phone and it works. Seems to be a similar,at issue to those with the airplane mode issue. Now there is no stock of the phone I want and I'm stuck with a dead paper weigh. Any ideas?

iPhone 7 256gb on Verizon. Same problem. Experienced it on a drive the Saturday after the release. "No Service" 10-12 times on a 100 mile drive on Long Island in New York. Tech support guy already had a couple calls about it and suspected a defect. He said that we could go through all the possible solutions but in the end, he expects the phone would have to be replaced. So, Verizon sent me out a new one. But the new one had the same issue. I promptly marched into a (corporate) Verizon store today and returned it. I'm back to using my old 6. Serves me right for getting the newest iteration before all the bugs are worked out.

MY phone is on LTE data only and I turned off roaming as of yesterday. So far everything is working good. While using Waze, it showed "searching network" but my 7+ 256 verizon worked fine on my way home from work and to work this morning. It even worked while talking on the phone with the Waze app in use. I downloaded 10.0.2 so maybe that helped? My wife just purchased her iPhone 7 and is going to use Waze today setup with data only LTEand roaming off as well. Hopefully hers works as designed also. Maybe we have a solution here...

I Have same issue with iphone7 AT&T 256gb silver. Worked for 24 hr when new. Then no service. Went to Apple Store and it started working in store when dead for 24 hr straight. Got home and no service again. No reset, restore to factory, reseat sim, or aiplane mode switch would bring it back. Apple replaced the phone as defective. Now the replacement is doing the same thing. It worked for 6 days before failure. Going back to Apple Store, but not happy!

Update to my earlier post, today on my way to work I had Waze on, without navigation and I had my first No Service. I have found that if I shut down Waze, turn on airplane mode for about 10 secs and then off I get my service back right away...but if I leave Waze running it will not come back on. So Odd!! I luckily have not had any other No Service issues, it is only when using Waze (GPS app). I am very hopeful that someone from apple is reading these and that this is a software fix, if we could get some sort of update at least we would all know whether to return our phones or wait for an update.

+1 for this exact issue on my 7 while using GPS, so far just Waze. Just switched over to verizon from ATT on the 7 upgrade and was thinking oh what a mistake I made coming to Verizon. Just stitched voice off the LTE and will see if that improves. Somebody at Apple/Verizon better come up with a solution. This isn't just an annoying thing - it is truly cutting into my productivity. Can't work like this. Thanks all for posting.

An update to my post from this morning.

I just got back from the Apple Store on Manhattan's Upper East Side (not super convenient for me but only one with an appointment time today.) Went through the usual routine with the first, more junior Genius, and explained the symptoms and that Apple had already swapped out my first 7, and now the new one was showing the same thing. This time it would kick into AT&T 4G sporadically on my way in this morning, unlike the old phone that just stayed dead with No Service all the time. While in the store it went to 0 signal strength dots and 4G, then No Service, then 5 dots LTE for about 2 min. then back to No Service again. The Genius got a more Senior Genius and they discussed and said Apple is aware of this issue and they would swap out phones again, but then said they did not have any iPhone 7 256gb silver on AT&T in stock to swap it with. They also said that Apple thinks it is a software issue and that they are working on a 10.0.3 update that should fix this. So the suggested I hang tight for a couple days. I reluctantly said OK, as there was not much else I could do except return for credit and have no phone. They may have just been blowing smoke at me, but maybe an update will fix this.

I'm not so sure swapping devices is a bad idea. It may be playing the odds but consider... these problems aren't affecting everyone, in fact given the lack of news being reported on this it's not affecting a large majority... therefore some phones (if not most) simply work while others do not. Is it possible to get one that works? Seems like it should be. Will it happen? Total crap shoot. I'd at least prefer to roll the dice and keep trying while I wait and draw a modicum of satisfaction know that I am in some way affecting them while I wait.

Ok, so I have been lurking in this thread on and off recently. I don't have a straight up solution to offer, but maybe my story can help others shed some light on their issues and maybe even fix things.

I received two iPhone 7 Plus's (Verizon) for my son and I on Sept 16th. On Thursday, Sept 22nd my phone started getting the dreaded 'no service' in the afternoon. I spent about an hour with Verizon support and he had my cycle through some other sim cards I had (4 in total), but not one of them worked. He said it was probably a hardware issue because it wasn't recognizing the SIM card and I should exchange the phone before the 30th (14 day return policy). I have a ton of photos so I wasn't looking forward to it, but the one last thing to try was a complete reset. I'd already done a network reset and that did not help. This was before I started hearing about Verizon's HD Voice service possibly having a part in this, but more on that in a minute. So, I did a factory reset and restored my phone using a backup I did via iTunes that same day. When everything came back, STILL no service. I did a network reset just to see, and somehow my service magically came BACK to life.

I use Waze religiously and had already seen a lot of dropped GPS signals and even after I got my service back, the GPS would drop 10 times during my 40 min. commute to work. Very frustrating but at least I was getting decent service most of the time.

Fast forward to last Sunday morning (Sept 25th). My son came to me and said now he was getting no service on his iPhone 7 Plus! So I go through the same basic steps as I did with mine but still nothing - NO SERVICE. By now I had seen some of the comments about the HD Voice service.

So to try to wrap this story up, I removed it from both phones on my Verizon acct. and set LTE to data only. Since I did this I have used Waze a ton without any dropped GPS or loss of service. I did a factory reset of his phone and a bunch of restarts and network resets and I was finally able to restore his service as well (it was seriously painful).

I have no idea how long this will last, but I am really hoping someone (Apple / Verizon) can give some hard facts and a solution to this. I ordered two new SIM cards from Verizon that came today, but I have decided not to switch to them until I know there is a solution to this problem.

I'm probably leaving some details out but this post is way too long already. If you are having similar issues, I would recommend temporarily removing the HD Voice service through your Verizon acct. page (instructions are earlier in this thread) and setting your LTE to 'data only' for the time being. The earlier post said to add HD Voice back, but I'm not risking it right now.

I haven't noticed any major problems with voice or data, but I don't make many long calls either. The good thing is Waze seems to work fine now and I seem to have the same LTE signal strength that I have always had. Of course, this could all change tomorrow. If it does I will post. Thanks!
