iPhone 7 bluetooth connectivity

I recently upgraded to the iPhone 7, and have had intermittent connectivity issues with Bluetooth pairing, primarily in my vehicle (Kia Optima) but also occasionally with my bluetooth speaker (Jawbone Big Jambox). With my iPhone 6S I could always count on turning on the car or speaker and it would connect without fail. Now, my car bluetooth might pair one out of every 10 times. My speaker will pair about 75% of the time. When I try to re-pair the car (a far larger issue) often the iPhone won't see the handsfree device under its discovery section in Bluetooth. This isn't happening with my wifes iPhone 6S (it's also on iOS 10.0.1). Is anyone else having this issue?

I have a similar problem at my iPhone 6S Plus:

It seems the bluetooth for my Honda Civic 2016 Touring model is having a lot of issues. One of the problems I'm facing is this one: when I'm at a call conversation over bluetooth, suddenly the sound gets messy, with a little distortion, I found out that if I transfer the call to the iPhone, and then back to the car's bluetooth the call becomes clear again. This problem do not happen at any Android phone I have tested so far.

The other problem concerns playing WhatsApp voice messages over any bluetooth using my iPhone, the sound is messy, skipping the sound, it works pretty bad, I discovered that if I play a video message before, and then play the voice message it works well.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 7 plus. The phone will pair to my Ford's Sync system but it cuts out every now and then and is not stable. I did not have this problem on my 6s plus. In fact I still have my 6s plus and it works flawlessly. I also have this issue with other Bluetooth devices such as 2 different headsets, speakers and smart watch. All of which work fine with my 6s plus. It definitely seems to be a hardware issue with the 7/7+. From what I have read on foruns for those other devices is that Apple has a brand new Bluetooth chip in the 7/7+ and it is having issues.

My issue is that it pairs fine with my watch, so i know the bluetooth works. It also finds some other random devices around, but for whatever reason cant find my car bluetooth. The test will be with my headphones later today, and if it cant find those, see ya later iPhone. Can't reorganize my life around the phone not functioning.

Hi all -

I've been using beta versions of iOS 10.2 for the past few weeks. Since I've upgraded from 10.1, I have had no pairing issues with my 2012 Hyundai Elantra. My iPhone 7 will automatically, and consistently, pair with the vehicle.

Prior to 10.2, auto-pairing would consistently fail. Manually pairing would work. Resetting my network settings did not help.

Hope this helps.

Add me to users with same problem. Have tried all the fixes above to no avail. (MacBook Air mid 2013) Bluetooth Pref. Pane says Pairing with iPhone failed “device does not have the necessary services”. iPhone 7 says “Connection unsuccessful. Ronald’s MacBook Air is Not supported” (iPhone's Bluetooth is "On" and iPhone is discoverable.)

I'm so happy I'm not the only one in this. I have just recently upgraded to an iphone 7 from the 6s and before I got the 7 Bluetooth connection had been working perfectly. So when I paired it up with one in a car and it worked perfectly I didn't suspect anything but later I tried with my Sony Bluetooth headset, it wasn't even coming up as an option! So I tried turning it off and on, turning the actual phone off and on, turning the headphones off and on, along with resetting the network settings. The only thing I haven't tried is resetting entire phone which seems irratatingly silly considering it's a brand new phone. I hope this issue gets fixed because I can't listen to music and charge my phone at the same time without bothering anyone. I hope apple can fix this issue!

My iPhone 7 plus won't connect to my MacBook Pro or iMac finally it suddenly started to work after 6 attempts I was told by Apple my devices are too old....,I did some research on Bluetooth and found that my devices are 2.0 and the iPhone 7 plus is 4.0 so it's an updated Bluetooth that doesn't match.... I tried to get a replacement at the Apple Store in Penrith I only had it for 4 days and because it connected to a speaker and another phone they said it's not faulty .......surely Apple can update a patch or something to help us.....
