I have two audio issues after upgraded to MacOs 10.12 today.
1. The audio balance automatically moved to left channel (It usually at the center)
2. The volume gained up to like 75%
I have adjusted my own but above two issues happens again every time I reboot my mac.
P.s1.Tried to turn off the new Siri function but it doesn't work.
P.s.2. Using external speakers
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), macOS Sierra (10.12)
Just to note my experience with the KEF X300As:
The unbalance issue is only with Sierra, a clean install did not fix it.
All versions of Yosemite, El Capitan, and Sierra have the USB dropout problem, even after clean installs of all three. Using the browser seems to be a common trigger.
Same problem with external speakers after upgraded to 10.12
I downloaded Balance Lock and am going to see if it fixes this new problem with KEF X300A's. Does anyone else lose sound after awhile? iTunes doesn't play and websites won't play either.

One last quick question. Would it work if it was plugged into a Thunderbolt display or does it have to be plugged in directly to the MacBook Pro? Thanks again for all of your help.
I would assume that it would, but don't have a Thunderbolt display to try it out. Given that you have a Thunderbolt Display, what happens when you connect the KEFs to one of its USB ports?

My audio drops out consistently every few days or so when connected to the Thunderbolt display. I have to turn the speakers on and off to get it to work again.

KEF has released a firmware update for the wireless model, but not for the X300As.
Give it a try.
I did some search but can't find the any updated firmware for the X300A Wireless anywhere, mine's firmware is from 2013. Can you give me a link?
Hmm... all I can see are firmware updates for LS50 Wireless and Gravity One portable speaker?
