Reminder notification that won't go away on Sierra

I appreciate your help, Doug. I learned something new about my Mac, so there is a silver lining, after all.

I'm sure this will eventually get ironed out, as it seems many are having this issue. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and check back regularly for a solution.

Having this same problem however the potential fix doesn't seem to work for me. I do not have a ~Library/Calendar anywhere that I can find. I have unsynced from iCloud and resynced to no avail. Very frustrating.

The Library folder is hidden by default. If you are in the Finder, choose the Go -> Go to Folder... menu item and paste in "~Library" (without quotes). That will open it and you should be able to see your Calendars folder

Same here. It's a very annoying and frustrating bug!

Absolutely did not work for me. I even called Support, walked through it with them. No luck. Went to the Apple store to work with a Genius. No help there either.

In the menu bar, have you tried going to Finder -> Go while holding down the "option" key? It should make the Library folder appear in the list.

I found and removed the Calendar folder in my library and the annoying pop-up stopped.

I have the same problem, which began to hunt me yesterday. Mine is a recurring reminder that keeps popping up, even if notifications are turned off.

I don’t find a library/reminders or something like that, I do find the library/calendars… Is that the same?

I am reluctant to delete the library/calendar. If I do that will the calendar execute again?

I have now, twice, done this. Both the time it fixes the issue but then all subsequent reminders/calendar for new events start popping up again. I hope there is a permanent solution to it.

I also have this problem, which started today. I have tried all the "solutions" that have been helpfuly offered, but have not been able to stop a calendar reminder appearing ever few minutes.

Additionally, I have not been able to locate the Calendar folder in the Library.

Can anyone offer any assistance?

It actually happened to me again yesterday for the first time in a while.

If you can get to the Library there should be a Calendar folder there. I don't understand why you are not seeing it. Are you holding the Option key down and then using the Go menu in Finder to go to the Library?

Anyway, what I did was:

(1) Moved the Calendar folder from Library to my Desktop for safe keeping (just in case things didn't sync up).

Actually, that was it. The reminder stopped reappearing.

I have managed to get into the Calendar in the Library.

After deleting the Calendar Cache, the reminder has not appeared for the last couple of hours.
