iPhone 7 GPS constantly changing in Maps

Is anyone having issues with GPS on the iPhone 7? In Maps, my "location" (i.e., blue dot) is jumping all around my current location. It doesn't seem to be getting a lock on my actual GPS location. I have noticed that it also affects other apps that use GPS.

I have the same freaking issue. I bought 7 since last year when it came out, within one month got the same issue. Best part was that when it happened when I was in US for business trip. Had soooo much trouble navigating.....then came back Singapore after a while it got better....then it kept occurring on and off, so I went down to service Centre early this year. they asked me to restore which I did then it kept on happening on and off. Had it enough, gg to go down again today and freakin gonna get it replaced.

I AM SOOOOOOOO ANGRRRYYYY!!!!😠😠

I had this GPS issue since September 16 like two weeks after i bought this Iphone 7. That time, i did search on web but not many findings, so i thought it could be a software issue so i did not inform apple.

Till the start of this year when i went down to Service Centre( QCD Wheelock, Singapore) as i could not take it anymore and my camera lens got a crack so i wanted to get it repaired....I did not even know how the F the crack appeared! The phone has no dent or scratches....probably because camera is protruding and over time, when you put down the phone the impact could have cracked the glass...

So they told me GPS issue could be software issue and asked me to factory reset and restore. Which i did and it did not solve the issue! and regarding the crack, i have to pay $650 to change to a new phone as there is no such thing as lens replacement. -.- -.- -.-

So Here is my story for the today!

So, i went down to Service Centre (QCD Wheelock, Singapore). Again! for the 2nd time! for the SAME ISSUE!

Again! As the GPS issue is ******* me off and my phone is still within 1 year warranty. Service Centre ran diagnosis and said that it could be software issue! and asked me to factory reset and restore! AGAIN!

SO! i said i have done that and the issue still persist! then they took in the phone for an hour to run diagnosis!

SO! the conclusion was, NO (I BOLD AND CAP THE WORD "NO"!) HARDWARE ISSUE! COULD BE SOFTWARE ISSUE AND ASKED ME TO MONITOR!

WHAT!!!?? I WAS SO ANGRY!!!WASTED MY MORNING! 😠😠

So, on my way back home, while driving, i turned on Google Map & Apple Map to test the navigation....(note, i have just newly factory reset from Service Centre), COULD NOT NAVIGATE S**T!....i was on the road but GPS showed i was like somewhere else! WAYAYYYAYYYA OFFFF!!!

So i called Apple ....spoke to so called "Senior Manager"...for AN HOUR! Senior Manager answering calls..! irony! -.-

They ADMITTED THAT THE GPS ISSUE COULD BE DUE TO HARDWARE ISSUE!!! CONTRARY TO SERVICE CENTRE! -.- -.-

So this dude said they could replace the phone but i would have to pay $650 as there was a crack in camera lens and that the GPS issue could be due to the impact when the crack happened!!! -.- -.- -.- SOOOO ANGRYYYY!!!😠

SO, angryyyyyyy arguing my way to waive $650 as the GPS issue happened before the crack even appeared! THIS DUDE ARGUED BACK SAYING THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME REPORTING THAT I HAD GPS ISSUE BEFORE THE START OF THIS YEAR!!!

I SAID THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME GPS ISSUE WHO ARE GETTING REPLACEMENT!! HE SAID IT IS BASED ON CASE BY CASE BASIS!

OMG!!!!! ANGRYYYY!!!!😠

BASICALLY! HE KEPT SAYING HE CANT DO SHITZ FOR ME!

I have been using apple for years, and now, they gonna lose me as customer for sure!

In summary! advice to all....

1) if you have GPS issue, DONT WAIT! STRAIGHT AWAY RUN TO SERVICE CENTRE! IF THEY ASK YOU TO FACTORY RESET AND MONITOR! THROW THE PHONE IN THEIR FACEs!

2) DONT GO TO QCD WHEELOCK FOR SERVICE! USELESS AS F!

BYE! GOOD LUCK ALL! I HAVE HAD IT ENOUGH WITH APPLE!

Well, I tried everything:

- Reboot

- Restore

- Take out chip

- apple remote diagnostics

- going to the store

Nothing worked, the store person told me to delete but NOT restore, rather start the iPhone as new but that option *****.

They would have changed it for a new one but the screen got a small dent so Im screwed.

iphone 7 matte black 256G bought on day one, error started 3 weeks ago... :(

I'm having the same issue.

Country - India

iPhone 7 plus 32GB (Matte black) (Intel modem)

GPS blue dot keeps jumping and location is inaccurate. I took it to the service centre and they took a week and replaced the phone however, I'm having the same issue. Planning to call the Apple support and speak regarding this and ask for another replacement. I will keep asking them for a replacement till the time this isn't fixed. I spent over $1075 and I'm going to make sure this doesn't get ignored by Apple.

I have this problem as well. In my car I have used a 5s, 5se, 6+ and they all work in my car. When i put my 7+ in the same place it does not work. I have swapped the phone 3 times, reinstalled 7-8 times. Tried 10.3 and 10.3.1, differenet mapping apps with no improvement. i logged a call with apple & 4 months later they said the chipset had changed in the 7 and it is working as designed and I need to change my car ($30k).

I discovered that if I move the 7+ 10 inches away from the steering wheel the phone works much better.

I got my iPhone 7 less than 2 weeks ago and have had GPS issues ever since. Running the most updated software, had no GPS issues with my perfectly fine iPhone 6, just upgraded due to eligibility. Just chatted with AT&T support, who had me reset my network settings and turn off LTE. Waiting to see if this helps or not, but it would be nice to have some sort of communication from Apple, since they are planning to charge over $1000USD for the next generation iPhone...

Yes I have this issue too. It keeps moving within a radius around my house but rarely at my house 1 minute its across the street from my house then back to my house (where I actually am). It keeps constantly moving its nice to know its not just me experiencing this. Yes it does effect other things such as location based reminders

Hopefully if enough people report it to apple they will address it

Thanks

I disagree. One the month of March I upgraded my phone from iPhone 6 to iPhone 7+

During that week both were running the same version of iOS. I saw a notable difference in cellular stability, Wifi and GPS.

I was doing a bit of research and found cellular modem is different in iPhone based on region.

In Wifi and GPS also I found the same issue, I also cross verified with my friends iPhone 7 which behaved the same.

Apple may be doing cost cutting on sensors.
