Samsung Portable SSD T1 support

After upgrading to Sierra, the OS doesn't recognize my existing Samsung Portable SSD T1 (MU-PS1T0B) connected via USB 3. If I unplug, then replug the USB cable, OS will detect the initial folder, but nothing happens when I click on the Samsung Portable SSD.app


When I go to the Samsung website, the activation software avarunning Samsung Portable SSD.app (which is still at 1.0 version) will only spin nonestop without display the normal login screen.


Any suggestions? Anyone else with similar problems?

I see some people talk about installing SSD T3 on the same Sierra machine, and I found both software (T1 and T3) in this link: http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/portable.html

But it did not work for me. When installing T3 soft it hangs with an error...


But I have realised that when I connect my Samsung T1 SSD, if I execute Disk Manager I can see the HDD. Then from Disk Manager you can press right button over SAMSUNG and open it on FINDER.

(by now it's the only way I can see it).

In my case the T3 software didn't work. There came an error and it shut down. There was also no 'Samsung SSD driver update message'.

I got the T1 software working again by installing the different SSD driver updates contained inside the 'T3 Security Enabler for Mac' software (4x). After a restart the SSD workes again with the 'Samsung Portable SSD' app.

Is anyone having this problem? I was told by Samsung customer care to install the new T5 driver and it should work, but even that didn't help.


To access the content of the drive, I have had to disable the password on the drive using an older version of OS X and now when I connect it mounts the drive.


Eventually, I would like a solution with working drivers so I can encrypt my drive.

Like #brassrat mentioned, once the T3 Activator is installed, the T1 can be recognized by Mac as well.

Please use the link above and download activation software for T3. And magic will happen.

I also emailed the Samsung yesterday and this is what they told me:
