iOS 10 Black Screen Spinning Wheel

Been using iOS 10.0.1 for about a week on an iPhone 6 and it's buggy. The issues below have only occurred since upgrading to iOS 10. Please fix in next release or provide solution.

1. Random black screen with spinning wheel. The upgrade went fine, so not that black screen. But at least daily my phone becomes unresponsive and shows a black screen with spinning wheel. After 5-10 seconds I'm prompted to enter my passcode as if the device has restarted. I'm not the only person experiencing this - and even managed to capture the image below.

2 - I've enabled the 'rest finger to open' option under home screen accessibility, but this doesn't always work. Again, about once a day, resting my finger to open results in me being prompted to press the home button to unlock. Each time this has happened I've checked and confirmed that the 'rest finger to open' option was enabled.

It's due to a date bug (Dec 2nd) causing local notifications to crash Springboard. For some people, Headspace is the only app they use with local notifications so deleting that was a work around. It won't work by itself if you have other apps with local notifications. Installing iOS 11.2 is the correct solution.

I could repro without Outlook installed and this issue repros for me When using Facebook and other apps. I opened a ticket in the Outlook app, and they told me that they had contacted apple and can confirm apple knows about this issue and that it is an ios 10 bug. I am a first time apple customer and didn't realize apple would let a community thread like this go on for so long without addressing it at all (yet tell other companies it's a bug). At least it sounds like they're aware - would be nice to see apple stand tall and come clean out here to put this issue to rest

Apple needs to take care of this issue it is NOT your phone. I have a brand new IPhone 7 and it happened to me also after 10.1.1 update. Very aggravating. What happened to apples we will fix it attitude instead of making excuses. I have had an IPhone since the 3 getting tired of the crappy attitude instead of just fixing the darn bugs Get with it Apple.

i was thinking that maybe my backup is corrupt... i've had this issue on my 6S PLUS; had to get it exchanged twice,,, the dumb apple store employee told me that i need to put my iphone in recovery mode, because apparently its the "home board" that keeps crashing; its the software that's responsible for loading the lock screen; anyways i did that & the issue came back... i ended up swapping out for a new phone & this morning i noticed that the new phone it is still crashing .... :@:@:@:@ i will go back to my galaxy s6... so frustrating.

doing the "hard-reset" doesn't do anything, because the problem comes back in a few days...

anyone know how to downgrade the OS?

What a pain. Can’t use the phone for more than a minute. Uninstalling headspace didn’t do it. I disabled notification on all apps that were updated this morning, but didn’t help. Started disabling all notification. Had a crash in the middle of g (google?), but not after that. Updated to 11.2. Now I have to enable the notifications

I suspect they released 11.2 in a hurry. It probably has other bugs, hopefully not as bad as this one.

Same problem here. So disappointing. And I can't restore my iPhone because the screen is black! And the Find My iPhone feature stops you from being able to do a restore. I managed to get it into recovery mode and it recognises that there is a problem with the iPhone and updates the software but that doesn't help.

I think this will be the last iPhone I own!
