iOS 10 Black Screen Spinning Wheel

Been using iOS 10.0.1 for about a week on an iPhone 6 and it's buggy. The issues below have only occurred since upgrading to iOS 10. Please fix in next release or provide solution.

1. Random black screen with spinning wheel. The upgrade went fine, so not that black screen. But at least daily my phone becomes unresponsive and shows a black screen with spinning wheel. After 5-10 seconds I'm prompted to enter my passcode as if the device has restarted. I'm not the only person experiencing this - and even managed to capture the image below.

2 - I've enabled the 'rest finger to open' option under home screen accessibility, but this doesn't always work. Again, about once a day, resting my finger to open results in me being prompted to press the home button to unlock. Each time this has happened I've checked and confirmed that the 'rest finger to open' option was enabled.

So I think it is possible that Outlook increases the likelihood/prevalence of these crashes and spinner problems, but the problem is definitely deeper in iOS since folks who have never installed Outlook are also seeing this. Also, the worst an app being unreliable should be able to do is crash itself, not the entire shell of the OS.

TL;DR: iOS has a nasty memory management / sandboxing problem that Outlook (& maybe other apps too) makes really obvious.

I Have this exact same issue on my 2 week old iPhone 7plus and previously on my 6 before I traded up. Black screen few seconds with circle then asks for my security passcode. It crashes usually in apps from FB, imessage, safari, and snap chat... but ive favtory reset a few times, today I reset and set it up as a new phone but still happening. one time it crashed and I had to bring it to the Apple Store for them to reset because iTunes couldn't even help me recover it. It's frustrating. if anybody gets any answers please let me know !

So I removed Outlook from my phone and everything has been good so far. However, I'm still seeing crashing on my iPad. I checked the logs and saw some references to the Agenda Widget.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the issue at hand but wanted to share.

Hmm, so maybe the problem, then, is widgets in iOS 10 having memory leaks, and the Outlook app's widget is particularly unreliable and prone to causing the system crashes folks are seeing? And for those who don't have Outlook installed but are still seeing the crashes, then maybe they have a bunch of widgets configured that also expose this unreliability in iOS 10?

I need the Outlook app for work, so uninstalling it is not an option for me, unfortunately.

I have disabled ALL widgets except for a couple native Apple ones (Phone Favorites & Weather) to see if this improves things for me.

iPhone 7+ owner here for the last couple weeks, have also been experiencing this exact same issue (crash to lock screen after black screen + spinning circle for a few seconds) So far the most trouble I have had has been when trying to take a picture, be it from the stock apple camera app, to using the stock notes app and adding a picture, or trying to take a picture with imessage, telegram or snapchat. I too use the Outlook app for work but have actually never seen that cause the crash to lock screen. My wife has an iPhone 6S running iOS 10.0.2, takes loads of pictures a day as she sells online and has not once experienced this issue.. Frustrating indeed!
