Magic Mouse 2 - slow tracking

Hello,

I have a magic mouse 2 connected via bluetooth to a Macbook pro (13in, early 2015). My problem is the cursor tracks way too slow across the screen. I have obviously set the "tracking speed" at the fasted setting possible (under system preferences/mouse) and it's still way too slow. Most of the time when I'm navigating up/down or across the screen, I have to actually pick up the mouse to move it. It's the slowest mouse I have ever encountered in my life. The external Mac trackpad and the internal trackpad on the Macbook work perfectly, there is only a problem when using the mouse. And just to be clear, there are no other problems other than it tracks too slowly.

I was using a third party program to speed up the mouse but it will no longer work since I have installed Sierra. Does anyone know of a reasonable way to speed up the mouse tracking more? I hate to say it, but I'm almost ready to buy a new 3rd party mouse because this one is so incredibly slow.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

This mouse is a joke. Right?

This is a brand new 27 inch iMac with MM2 - no third party software etc. Brand new Sierra update. $2750 right out of the box from Apple direct.

I love the T/S stuff - make sure it's turned on, make sure the batt is charged etc etc.

I'm using my $12 Logitech M325, with no special drivers or software, and it works fine - speedy. Just like it does on my MacBook Pro and all my Windows machines.

This is not an exaggeration: How can anybody use this mouse? If this was all I had, I would be boxing this lovely machine up and calling for an RMA number. It's not usable.

Can I suggest you start a new thread and include with it the details of your machine, its operating system, the mouse and what you have tried to do to get it working. Jumping into an old thread, especially one marked with a green solved star will not encourage people to look at your problem.

I have a similar problem, which I'm not sure is caused by upgrading to Sierra or by my new iMac 27, since both arrived the same day. My Magic Mouse 2 was working perfectly on El Capitan on my Mac Mini, but not so now. It skips and intermittently drags slowly. I have it set to the maximum fast speed for tracking.

It does seem to behave as if the battery were low. You know, as if it can't quite hold on to the bluetooth connection. However, it is fully charged.

Additionally--and maybe this is related--neither my Magic Mouse 2 or Magic Trackpad 2 are recognized upon reboot. I have to plug them in first. Sometimes this happens with the Magic Keypad, as well, but not always.

I hate to admit this, but if I build up enough frustration and smack my Magic Mouse 2 on the mousepad...it does seem to behave better for a while. :-)
