Was hoping to watch the local news tonight while working in my office on my Mac (Sierra).

So I have not been able to use any live TV streaming using the highly promoted Picture in Picture feature.

Could not watch any of the recent baseball playoffs via TBS, ESPN and Fox and also NONE of the NFL and college football that I stream via (CBS, Fox, ESPN, NBC, ABC)

Am I doing something wrong or is Apple?

Would offer to have Apple make this a simple feature and not all the complex work-a-rounds all the good discussion listers have provided.

Thx Much to anyone who can help.

Fred, I thought I would try and answer this part of your question. It's not your fault and it's not Apple's fault. The problem remains that not all sites stream with the same standard. some use HTML5, some use Adobe Flash, some Microsoft Silverlight, some use other methods. Many sites are moving to HTML5 but not all have. As I posted you can get picture in picture on ESPN's site. It also works on CNN, YouTube, Vimeo and some others. CBS on the other hand still uses Flash. I'm not sure what NBC is using.

Until sites settle on something like HTML5, it's going to be hit and miss as far as picture in picture.

It does indeed work. Just not on every site which Tim Cook made a point of mentioning in the Sierra demo. I'm not sure where you got the idea it was heavily promoted. It is still in its infancy. No one claimed it would work everywhere or that it was perfected. Personally I don't use it, don't need it. The first picture in picture TVs that came out made me yawn and wonder why I would ever use one.

I think you expect too much too soon.

Thx DB and do not want to shoot the messenger.

I really appreciate the help and frank info.

This is for Apple and not you

When I buy a TV that says it has PIP, it has PIP for every channel, network!!

Oh well, I am very disappointed that during the college, NFL and baseball playoff seasons we are forced to wait.

Thank You very much and if you here any news of how this PIP feature is working on all the TV networks, I am I am sure many others would like to know.

Does MAC OS Sierra REALLY work with sports channels. Have seen all sorts of work-a-rounds and sofware, extensions PIPifier, but I still cannot watch sports especially Apple biggest partner Disney, ABC, ESPN sports production. I am sure Apple is aware that we are in the midst of the World Series, NFL and NCAA football, but I still cannot use Apple's highly promoted PIP feature of Sierra.

Please help or will this PIP feature take as long as the Cubs and Indians to win a world series?

DB, enough is enough...you clearly do not get what us non-tech consumers expect from what Apple says we should expect.

Have you been able to watch live sports via the Sierra PIP feature??

Apple promotes PIP.

If I bought a TV that was marketed with PIP and it did not work, I could take it back.

Apple has promoted PIP, and does not work with any live sports TV stations. (ESPN, Fox, NBC, CSN and more)

Nothing has been said by Apple as to what live sports stations work with Apple Sierra's PIP and "nothing" has been said as to when it will be featured.

This is sad, very, very sad

Hope the PIP feature is perfected quicker than the Cubs/Cleveland winning the world series.

If someone just said that Apple's PIP feature is not there yet, that is all we need.
