iPhone 7 Camera App does not work

UUgh me too! This is my 2nd phone I had to get and the camera went completely bad on this one

I buy two 256g iPhone, one for me and one for my wife, mine three days ago started with problems at the camera. Now both cameras are dead (front and back), only I can see a black screen, I tried with different applications and is the same problem, is dead. Now I have a thousand dollars paperweight. It is sad and disappointing, after more than 6 years using apple products for reliability now I'm upset and disappointed. Customer Service tells me that is a problem with the sensor. I just hope that the second does not fail. I am completely disappointed.

I have the same problem. When I switch to video from camera, it becomes normal but the same problem can start in whatsapp camera too. Any solutions anyone?

Instead of being Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm why don't you actually attempt to help him. This issue is all over the 'net and there are some temp fixes like going back & forth to video mode. It doesnt work for me but others have validated it.

My front camera is not working is blurry

I also ran into problems with the Camera app. Making it impossible to take photos and videos with the two back cameras on the iPhone 7 plus (blurry screen). I knew it was a software problem because other apps were able to access the "normal" camera and take pictures.

My fix was to uninstall other apps with access to the camera and restart my iPhone.

( In my case I uninstalled the app "Procam" and disabled the others, I noticed that choosing the 2x Lens in this app made it close)

Unfortunately the "breakdown" happened when I was needing it the most - on a trip with my family to Vietnam and Cambodia :-( (I live in Denmark).

I have the exact same issue. I have an iPhone 7 128Gb. When the camera stops working, I have to rebboot the phone and then, it works for a few days before freezing again. iOS is updated.

Dear, i have same problem, wait till ios10.3, if problem resolved in new ios then its ok, otherwise hardware fault, and have to repair/ replace the camera, and then sale out after repair.

Restart the phone (Just power it off for a few minutes and turn it back on and open the camera app again" It worked for me, hopefully for you too.

Same issue. Deleting last photo taken fixed the issue for me. Slo-mo, selfie, and pano had no issues. Only photo and portrait were either black or blurred. Hope this helps someone.
