iPhone 7 Camera Auto White Balance Problem

Hi guys, got my new iPhone 7 and had been shooting lots of photos with it. I noticed that all my whites in my photos appear yellowish and sometimes yellow in my photos can appear either white/or with deeper shades of yellow. I had attached 2 photographs I took of a white wall at my office. 1 was captured by immediate shot in the camera app while the other one was shot after making the camera go off focus. Not sure if this is a software issue with the Auto White Balance of the Camera app or a hardware defect. Hope to hear some advice from the community!

Hi SonicMacSalem,

Thanks for highlighting that you experienced this similar issue. Just to clarify, you are using an iPhone 7 Plus? Mine is the iPhone 7 model and this issue is occurring on the normal camera. Please help to raise a bug report regarding this issue so we can bring this issue to the attention of the Apple Engineers team. Cheers.

Yes I have the same auto color balance issue. I can also duplicate it when recording video. It seems most noticeable in moderate low light. I have warm LED light bulbs in the room along with a plasma TV. It seems like the camera gets confused by what it sees and try's to over compensate the color. This is either an iOS software error or an error in the camera modules firmware. I don't know if Apple can fix the firmware via a software update or if the camera module needs to be replaced.

Who wants to take their iPhone to an Apple Store to see what they say?

Nope, the white balance problem persists throughout all versions of iOS 10. No Apple engineers have replied to my bug report about this problem yet. It is a terrible yellow tint that only appears in shots taken indoors. And to make things worse, there is another post with more than 30 pages talking about camera focus problem and "waterpainting" problem. Seriously hope Apple will give us a decent public announcement soon about why their iPhone 7 series have so many camera issues.

To be honest, I think another exchange will not solve the problem. Apple seems to be ignoring us unless more people raise bug reports or talk to relevant news reporting sites to blow this up.
