Sign out and in of frequent sites Luke gmail FB LinkedIn eBay etc

Force quit and close FT and iMessages

While keeping only one open at max

Monitor your activity monitor if it does it again

Consider turning off or removing third party apps running in bar

Good morning guys. My machine is now at Apple under Apple care. We cannot have it running like this.

Work gave me a Mac mini as a spare. Wow that's a POS

Wow that sounds complicated and precise, think I will wait for the new version of Sierra which I suppose will be out soon. A few days now using Chrome without a reboot, better than safari was, twice a day at least

Have you guys monitored the Memory Pressure in Activity Monitor while your freeze happens?

I am experiencing another(?) freeze since Sierra: Re: macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Freeze/Beachball with high Memory Pressure / kernel_task Memory usage

Might be related if yours comes with High Memory Pressure as well...

Using other utilities such as top, lsof, etc, I have also observed heavy swap file activity during the lock ups. It is difficult to run any utility while this is happening however because to system becomes so unresponsive.

Interesting! I was lucky and could capture some screenshots of Activity Monitor during recovery from a freeze (see my other thread).

Also I heard that SSH is working during the freeze which might allow more detailed investigation via command line - or have you already used that method?

Has anyone filed a bug report with Apple yet? (https://developer.apple.com/bug-reporting/)

Not upgraded to SSD yet

screen freezes; pointer moves. Have to reboot using the power button on the back. This happens most often when I have a few apps running. Happened 3 times today. I will be moving to Chrome, as suggested by others. (Thanks for that advice by the way).

Update ---- after 3 weeks of switching to Chrome (running my 2009 iMac 27" on seirra 10.12.1) it froze for the first time without Safari!!!!!

Not sure if this helps anyone.

I was on a good 21 day streak with no freezing.

I will take the 1 in every 21 day freezes on Chrome vs. the 1 in 21 minutes on Safari.

Tried Safari Tech Preview. Same issue. Been through all the routines with ditching caches, plug-ins, cookies etc. I don't want to revert to a TC version with El Capitan because I have some issues back there since resolved and don't want to re-import. Looks like we'll have to just wait for a version fix and use Firefox or other in the interim?

Flash Player

Flip4Mac

I have disabled Jave in Safari/Preferences/Security/Plug-ins unchecked the Java box

So far;

the beachballing in Safari and elsewhere has been eliminated.

Mail and other software opens much faster

I am still trying to learn how to uninstall Java 8, even though I have disabled in Safari. When I want to see a video that Safari cannot play, I use Chrome Google.

My remaining issue is white ghost file behind a Word 2008 file.

I have the same problem. I have no idea what the solution is. Come on Apple!! Help!!

We just submitted 650mb of crash logs to Apple on this subject. Gotta love a business Apple care account. My IT guy is on top of it. Let's see what they say.
