iPhone 7 screen scratches?

Has any one come across having very light scratches on the screen? I just got my phone 3 days ago and it has several light scratches.. i have no idea how.. I was very careful with it. Im surprise how sensitive this screen is.. idk if maybe its a defect on the coating of the screen. very disappointed in it.

After studying a bit in order to find an answer of this scratch issue, I’ve found that probably the scratches came from oleophobic coating of the screen - instead of the glass itself. Due to its chemical properties, the coating normally will wear off within two years or less, depending on usage.

Finding this explanation makes me feeling relieved. However, it would be more relieving if Apple themselves gave the explanation.

Hi Apple

It's been a week I got my iPhone 7plus 128gb. For the first time in 4 years Using iphone product I got scratches on the screen. This is a really bad experience. I used 6plus for more than year. Screen never had a single scratch. Tell me how to remove them.

I had the iPhone 6+ before I got my iPhone 7. The iPhone 6+ never had a screen protector and just had a clip on case on it. It was fine had 1 or 2 scratches on it. I didn't reallymind it. Then when I upgraded to the iPhone 7 I had a clip in case on it no screen protector I thought it was fine because I did that with the 6+ plus, I guess not. 4 months later it has so many scratches on it. I've taken such good care of it, but it's still all scratched up. I've never dropped it or scraped anything against it to have so many scratches on it.

I am new to apple never use apple before. I am android user and kind of Xiaomi fan, I had a lot of xiaomi products. I saw my friends using this iphone 7 and I fall in love with the sleek/simple design iphone 7. I thought why not giving apple some try. So, I bought iphone 7 matte colour 2 weeks ago and I do put on tempered glass protector on the screen but I planning to change the tempered glass to thin screen protector but somehow while waiting for the screen protector deliver to me I notice hairline scratches middle on front screen (perhaps caused when it in out from my pocket). I use Redmi Note 3 before and never happened to this affordable phone compared to high end iphone 7. Not a good way to impress new apple users, i didn't regret but very much disappointing.

Same here. I realized the very thin scratches under direct sunlight. It made me surprised and thinking for some moments, then checking and checking again - hoping that my eyes were wrong. But, the scratches have been there.

I took care of it like a baby. Now I don’t know what to do. Just feeling disappointed. Like the other folks: bought an iPhone regarding its high quality compared to others. Now it seems like a myth.

BBattled with Verizon tooth and nail to receive a replacement. Never had an iPhone scratch like this, and I've owned every release of iPhone from 2G since 2007. This was after 4 weeks of babying the phone, which I've never done to previous phones. Towards the end, the glass started pocking and little holes were starting to form in the corners. The scratches ranged from large gouges to a multitude of fine line scratches, all over the screen. User uploaded file
