Apple Home App (no response)

I have the Philips Bridge with several bulbs, and they work fine 100% with the Hue App all of the time, when I set up the Home App on the phone though, anywhere from immediately to 1 day, I get this:

The only fix is to remove Home from the App, re-pair the bridge again (which is already still paired, but removing home unpairs it), and setting everything up again. Then, again, anywhere from immediately to 1 day or so, it goes back to the No Response message and nothing works (From Home App, Hue App ALWAYS works, even when I see this "no response" message in Home.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the SAME issue. I purchases four iHome smart plugs. For about 24 hours I could use Siri to control all four. Now all four show up as "No Response." I can reset all of the plugs but after a short bit I get the "No Response" again. This appears to be a MAJOR bug on the Apple side. I'm using an iPhone 6 and I am running iOS 10.2. I have tried every troubleshooting thing I can find and nothing works.

Has anyone found a real solution yet?

If the Home app isn't launching after your iPad has been asleep a long time, then that points to a corruption somewhere in the OS or the Home App itself. Since built in apps (some of them at least, including Home) can be deleted, delete the Home App and re download it from the App Store. If that doesn't resolve it, back up the iPad to iCloud or iTunes and perform a restore on the iPad, then restore you data from wherever you backed it up. If that doesn't do the trick, your only option would be a restore, and set up as a new device and re download your content.

I have a very similar issue: In my Home App, all devices (Lutron Caseta lights and Eve Room) are working, except the Lyric Round Thermostat (2nd gen).

The strange thing is that I have seen it respond a few times, however, only for about 10 seconds, and then it goes back to "No Response".

I've tried to restart the Thermostat before, but it seems to only work for a few hours or so until it gets back to "No response". I wish I could be more precise in stating when/when not this is working, but it seems very intermittently.

It would be great to hear about others experience and if there is a fix.

Thanks!

I too have the same issue with the Honeywell Lyric Round Thermostat Second Generation. In the Home app the device is always showing "No response".

If I power off/on the thermostat it will connect for a few seconds in the Home app then immediately switch to "No Response. Same thing happens if I disconnect from Wifi/cellular networks.

I have attempted to impair/repair the thermostat in hopes of getting the HomeKit integration to work ronni avail.

I have also restarted my home routers, reset my iOS device (which is running latest IOS 10.1.1) and also reset the thermostat confit but still the same "No response " message in the Home app.

Is this a problem with Apple HomeKit integration or a problem with Lyric thermostats?

I've got the same issue.

Connection to the Hue lights from the Home app only works typically for a few minutes just to give me the "No response" status. Power off/power on the hub will bring back the connection for a while. The Hue app still works 100 %. The only thing that would come to my mind, which I haven't tried yet, is to prevent sleep mode on the Ipad. Guessing that could maintain the connection. Perhaps would work similar on the Apple TV?

I've tried reaching out to the Hue Community on Facebook. Unfortunately, they're just saying they will look into it and never gets back.

I'm running 3 hue lights connected to the gen 2 Hue bridge with latest available firmware (01036659). The hue bridge is connected straight into an available LAN port on the router. On each iOS device, I'm running the latest available version 10.1.1.

Any suggestions?

Similar issue here with the Lyric round thermostat (2nd gen). My Hue lights (which I just set up a couple of days ago) are fine in the Home app, but my Lyric thermostat is often listed as "No Response" in the Home app (iOS 10.2). The Lyric app works 100% of the time. Sometimes when I first open the app, the Lyric will appear to be ok/communicating while its initially updating but then will go to no response within seconds. If I repeatedly tap the Lyric thermostat under favorite accessories, it will sometimes connect/respond, but then seconds to minutes later it will go back to no response. There doesn't seem to be any particular time/situation when this occurs - seems to be pretty random. I'm also wondering if it is a Home app or Lyric issue. Would love to have a resolution to this issue as I like the ease of using Siri to adjust the thermostat hands-free.

Hi!

I am suspecting something on the router/network side. Reason why is because if I toggle between DHCP/Static IP on the Hue bridge in the Hue app, I can get the connection to work in the Home app for a short while, just to go offline again. And randomly, as you experience as well.

Router-wise it is not much to fuss with. The only thing I saw somewhere was to disable DHCP on Airport Express in case you have one. Not sure if that could have something to do with it. Do you have one as well? I think it's a game of exclusion at this point. Very little reference on the Internet to go on. Most people seems to have a working setup, at least from this perspective.

Wish I knew what the exact issue is! For me, I think it may be the Lyric's HomeKit compatibility, but I can't say for sure. I read a review that the Lyric isn't "fully compatible" with HomeKit, but I have no way of confirming that. My Hue lights are working fine, though. I've tried re-setting the Lyric and WiFi (don't have Airport) to no avail. Next, I'm going to re-do the Lyric's HomeKit set up, but I'm holding off until the temps warm back up a bit - don't want to risk the thermostat not working or taking too long to set-up because its so cold here right now!

This is very frustrating. I have 2 Apple TV 4's, an EcoBee 3 thermostat and 2 Switch's by iDevices. I completely wiped everything last night and re-setup my whole system. Everything worked great for a few hours. Now I have the same message that you all do. "No accessories responding" I've even tried replacing my Airport extreme with a different router. No luck. Siri doesn't work either. I get a message that says, "sorry I didn't hear back". This sounds like an Apple issue. HomeKit is great when it works. Unfortunately it only works for a few hours at a time. COME ON APPLE!!!

Ugh, I just bought two new ecobee3s to replace the Lyric thermostats thinking it was the Lyric's issue (my Hue lights have been working flawlessly). If it's a Home app issue, then obviously no need in wasting time to switch out the thermostats. I just want to be able to use HomeKit/Siri to adjust the thermostats remotely and hands-free.

Been fiddling around a bit more with my Siri/HomeKit setup in order to get my Lyric Round Second Gen Thermostat to work and so far here is what I did:

I have a 4th gen Apple TV running TVOS 10.1 acting as Home Hub for remote access. I also have an iPhone 7 (iOS 10.2) and an iPad mini 4 (iOS 10.2). My HomeKit devices are Lyric thermostat and two iDevices switches.

I decided to setup my iPad mini 4 running as a Home hub (in addition to my Apple TV) to see if the problem was the Apple TV or something else... and here are my results:

(1) If I disconnect the lightning cable from the iPad mini 4 (remove it from power), Siri/HomeKit on my iPhone 7 for the Lyric begins to respond properly both when I am home (local wifi network) and away from home. Siri/HomeKit on my Apple TV will also respond correctly for the Lyric.

(2) Weird thing is when I connect the lightning cable to my iPad mini 4 acting as a home hub (plugged into power), when I am away from home the Lyric status in the Home App on my iPhone 7 will change to "No response". Also my Apple TV does not recognize the Lyric "sorry I didn't hear back from your devices."

(3) If I disable the iPad mini 4 as a home hub, when I am at home (same wifi network), my iPhone's Siri/HomeKit will recognize the Lyric (most of the time, there have been times when the Lyric displays a "no response" status). The Apple TV does not recognize the Lyric at all "sorry I didn't hear back from your devices." If I restart the Apple TV, it will recognize the Lyric for about a minute or so and then change back to "sorry I didn't hear back from your devices"

(4) When the iPad mini 4 is not a home hub and I am away from home, my iPhone's Siri/HomeKit will NOT recognize the Lyric "no response". Same with the Apple TV "sorry I didn't hear back from your devices."

I can reproduce these behaviors. And based on my experience I believe the issue is with the Apple TV not sustaining the connection to the Lyric thermostat in order to consistently provide a status update to my other iOS devices, particularly when I am away from home.

My two iDevices switches do not exhibit this behavior at all. Their Siri/HomeKit integration has been solid whether I am at home (same wifi network) or away from home and whether I only have the Apple TV as a home Hub or both the Apple TV and iPad mini 4 acting as a home hub (connected to power or not connected to power).

Apple PLEASE HELP!!

I am having the exact same issue with lyric. Intermittently the thermostats show as no response. The Lutron lights NEVER have a problem with not being responsive. I have have 2 wireless access points with the same network name and password that are joined by a wired router. The upstairs AirPort Extreme is an older 5th generation. If anyone knows what the issue is I'm all ears. Thank you!!!
