iPhone on iOS 10 keeps asking for Hotmail password

Ok people what happened to me was that I was having a problem with 1 website I was browsing in Safari so after much thinking, I decided I should clear my history and data and the website started to appear correctly again. Days later my hotmail account began logging me out asking me now to put my username. The password was saved but username was always a problem. Many days I spent searching until I tried this. On the Outlook page where it was asking me to sign in, there is a small link to click that says 'What's this' or something . Click it then there is an explanation blah blah blah but in that first paragraph there is another link that says learn more. Click there and it will take you to another signing In window similar to the first but this one has a 'remember me' box. Tick it and that was what I was looking for.

Not sure why it wasn't in the first window where I had to sign... I hope this helps.

Hotmail is notoriously buggy. Has been for years. Have you searched their forum for problems related to iOS 10 compatibility? There may be suggestions there.

This is a poor answer. The protocols for accessing Hotmail accounts have not changed.

Same here.Upgraded to ios 10 and started to ask password for my hotmail.Strange thing is i deny to enter password and it's still working and receiving mails.Very annoying tho.

I also have exact same issue with my 4 Hotmail accounts. Worked fine for years until i updated to IOS10, so obviously an issue with the new IOS and not Hotmail.

Keep signing in and it works for a few days and then have to sign in again.

Apple sort it out!

Nice to see I'm not alone at least. This has been happening to me too since getting a new 6S and upgrading to ios10, never happened before so clearly an ios10 issue.

i have the same issue with iOS 10 and my iPhone 6s, i will test disabling push as mentioned.

i'm so glad to see that not alone with this problem. since i have updated to ios 10, this problem appeared and i tried to install ios 10 with DFU mode but nothing is changed, still have this problem. i hope to see that fixing this problem as soon as possible

That answer might of held water except that myself and over a half a dozen family members who are long time Hotmail \ Microsoft Live Users were not having any issues prior to upgrading to iOS 10.x.x, simple logic dictates that the trouble is an iOS trouble and not a Hotmail \ Microsoft Live trouble.

Delete the Hotmail account from your phone and then reprogram it in.

Hotmail may not be keeping up with Apple's iOS upgrades. It's just as important for the app creator, Hotmail, to upgrade their app as it is for Apple to work with the app.
