How do I enable rich notifications for tvOS text entry from iPhone lock screen

You have to have Bluetooth activated on your iOS device or else it won't work.

1) Activate bluetooth on your iOS device

2) Go somewhere on your AppleTV (4) where text input is required, click once in the text input area

3) There should be a notification popup on your iOS device

4) The option 'Apple TV Remote Keyboard' should now be visible in Settings->Notifications

Read the article again. Perhaps "Apple TV Remote Keyboard" is a third party app that needs to be downloaded and installed?

Yes I do. The notifications were on by default and when tested it did work.

Yep, having the exact same problem too. What's funny, it works just fine on my iPad (hence the proof I'm not going crazy and looking at the right thing at the right place), but the same funky symptom exist on my iPhone 6s: The "Apple TV Remote Keyboard" is nowhere to be found in the list off Apps under Notifications.

I wasn't aware the app was available for the iPad, I certainly don't see it when I search. I do however have the app installed one of my phones, for which the entry does appear in the list in the notifications settings and not on the other two phones which has no such entry in the notifications settings.

Then I think we really need to dismiss it for the purposes of confirming this situation. When the remote app is on the phone it's designed to be on, the option is definitely in the notifications settings.
