"Black boxes" over content in Safari since Sierra installed (intermittent freezes, also)

Hello,

I am seeing large "black boxes" that obscure content in Safari since installing Sierra. Sometimes refreshing the page will clear the boxes, but not always.

I am an experienced Mac user (all the way back to System 7) and I have never experienced this kind of behavior before.

I am also experiencing intermittent freezes on my MacBook Air (requiring a reboot) that are much more frequent since the Sierra was installed.

Anyone else having similar symptoms?

So you exclude the possibility it is related to Sierra and it might affect others?

Happening to me too,

already reinstalled Sierra and it happened even on the fresh system, so it seems more like an internal safari component that is not loaded at safe boot but is on normal boot...

I'm still having the same problem--only it's white boxes, and they only occur when I'm running both Safari and Microsoft Word for Mac 2008. Any further thoughts or suggestions?

I might've missed a similar reply, but this looks like Adware, especially if it's Safari-specific. I would take Old Toad's advice and reinstall Sierra.
