I am having visual voicemail issues in iOS 10.0.2. The voicemail box keeps closing and the message starts playing but does not finish. I am constantly having to close and reopen the phone app. Resetting the network settings did not work.

I went the long route, did a hard factory reset completely erasing the iphone 6, connected to iTunes downloaded the latest software and setting it up as a new phone.
Same problem!!!!

Verizon offered me to mail out a new Sim card. I expected it. Recived it, will see tomorrow if that fixed it. I doubt it.

This seems like a typical "fix" from Apple. Nuke and pave ALL THE THINGS! Should I really be expected to do this multiple times a year for all of their bugs? No, I shouldn't...
i actually got a NEW phone over this issue. SAME problem. HELLO, it's a PHONE! Support told me Apple is "aware"--yet not fixing it, obviously, since the issue has existed since OCTOBER.
Tried these steps -- no change.
Why this says the issue is 'solved' is weird to me. Restoring your phone to factory settings is not something anyone wants to do to fix a minor problem.
This issues is causing me to consider not only to switch from the iPhone, but to also sell Apple's stock.
The company has simply lost its way if it is unwilling to fix this bug.
This is not true as I did contact the carrier to reset my voicemail and this is still a huge and annoying issue for me.
On third new device, same issue. It's an IOS problem, per my conversation with Apple tech support. There is no fix. Apple knows, just doesn't seem to care.
One answer to this thread finally worked for me. I had to turn my AT&T voicemail password off. I tried literally every possible solution with no avail... until that.
how do you turn it off? I see where to change it but not to turn it off.
I am also having this issue and keep thinking it will be addressed in the next update. I'm tired of waiting. Seriously. It is so annoying.

I have had this same issue for looooong time as well...it seems to have been corrected with the lastest update OS 10.3.1. What a relief, finally!
