Cannot back-up to time capsule using Sierra OS

Ever since I upgraded to Sierra OS - I cannot get time machine to back-up to the time capsule. The Apple support team tells me that Time Capsule is not reliable and I should attach an external drive to back-up. Why the heck did I waste money on Time Capsule?

I have the same problem and this is frustrating. So for now, is there no solution to this problem ?

I have heard from a dozen people. Same problem

Seems no workable solutions using Time Machine

with Time Capsule.

Yesterday afternoon I got the messages:last back up today

at 1:10pm". Thought maybe the problem was solved.

This morning the message was: no backup in

1181 DAYS!!

Unacceptable

I'm calling Apple.

I have been experiencing the Sierra/Time Capsule/Time Machine problem of no backups since I installed Sierra on October 28.Messages like:"preparing back up"-but nothing happens mysterious messages like on Friday:"last back up today", thenSaturday"no backup for 1088 day and then Sunday another day: "last backup February 14, 2014".

Now I don't seem to even be able to access my Time Capsule. It shows up as a lighter color and nothing happens when I click on it.

Today I called Apple (Care?)

1.) waited 10 minutes for first agent. He had not heard of a problem but then "he doesn't handle Time Capsule" Although he took my phone number when we were disconnected-he never called me back.

2. Called again-15 minute wait. This rep. had heard "something" of the problem and would get a senior agent. 10 minute wait. She apologized she couldn't help and would get someone who specialized in Time Capsule. About another 5 minutes and another rep came on the line. Bad connection and he said would call back. He did but still bad connection. Said he would try again.

3. Waiting two hours.-never heard from him.

So after over an hour with Apple(Care?) Four people -I have not even talked to a person who could attempt to help with my problem that seems to have originated with Sierra.

Now what do I do?

I updated my OS to Sierra 10.12.2, tried Time Machine again, seems a fix was included. I was successful in getting a full backup and I'm getting hourly incrementals since the full back up finished several hours ago.

I have had the same experience: updated OS and have full plus 5 incremental BUs. Thank God for small favours.
