Why Wacom tablets do not work properly on Sierra

Since i updated to Sierra i been experimenting problems with my Wacom tablets, Adobe CC, C4D and other stuff and. I been using multiple Wacom tablets -- ,( Intuos, Intuos pro 4 Medium, Bamboo and Cintiqs), and with all of them is very difficult to click and sometimes i just double click or select everything which is very annoying.

I tried also to uninstall other drivers that could be causing problems, installing the wacom drivers several times and also almost past versions, using first aid and rebooting with cmd alt PR, but nothing of this steps worked.

Do anybody have an idea whats wrong?

This is the only thing that has helped. System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse/Trackpad: Set Double Click Speed slider all the way to Fast.

I was going insane for so long before.. randomly opening files, making mistakes in design files. Wacom only offered rolling drivers back which no longer worked. Changing this Accessibility setting seems to work. I guess Apple thought they were helping people double click more easily (never had a problem with that) which made tablet pen's sensitive input register as multiple clicks! Ugh. Thanks, Apple…

Unfortunately didn't help me. Just for future readers' info, I have an Intuos 3 on an iMac. My exact problem is that the Wacom will not reliably bring windows to the front by clicking on them. I have to engage the dock - just momentarily will do - and then go back to the window I want to use. Otherwise it ignores my click. The mouse works for the same action, so it's just the Pen it seems, not an OS setting. Very annoying!

LU88, and other frustrated Mac/Wacom users.

I have an Imac and an old Wacom Intuos 3. When I updated to Sierra (due to instability in my Mac) the old wacom pretty much stopped working. I loved it, so did a quick search of blogs and then replaced it with a brand new Wacom Intuos Art (Medium) Pen and Touch CTH-690. I un-installed the old Wacom Driver, installed the new one and plugged it in - it was terrible...... basically didn't work.

Wacom advised a whole new un-install and reinstall, update all programmes and operating systems (I use Creative Suite), and finally a full search of all the files for anything with wacom or tablet in the file or folder name and clear the trash can - and then clean re-install again. All to no avail.

Finally the problem was solved by creating a new and clean user on the Mac, and loading the driver into that user's account - now the tablet runs perfectly. (unfortunately I now have to transfer my mail etc accounts, and hopefully not the corrupted file.... a real pain)

So my guess is there is an issue with the Mac software and operating systems which is retaining a 'ghost' of some programming that corrupts the Wacom settings. This may be the issue for others too, so perhaps try it once you are sure you've tried everything else.

I doubt there are legitimate issues with both the tablet and newer Mac OS. This is nothing more than forced/ intentional/ planned obsolescence.

This practice will bite Wacom in the a** ...that, they can be sure. It's already starting with the iPad, pencil and mirroring apps!

So to Wacom I hope you stay relevant up to the yr 2020. I have a feeling they would be scrambling for the exit before then.

After almost a year, I finally have things working. The main problem was MMB would not be recognized, although there were some additional problems in ZBrush. Anyway, I went back to Wacom Driver 6.3.15-3. I'm using with OS 10.12.6 and everything if finally working.

Make sure you do an uninstall of Wacom driver first before installing 6.3.15-3.

Same issues with my Intuos 4 tablet (PTK440). Changed various drivers as per Wacom. Neither resolved the issue. Pen opens multiple windows, creates folders automatically in the finder. In a graphic app the pen flashes open multiple context windows. The pen will only work as a mouse if I use the eraser end. I'm not spending another 400$ on an other Wacom tablet after all this mess.
