Strange lines on screen only in Time Machine

I have some strange vertical and horizontal lines when I enter in Time Machine.

I've checked for errors on the the graphic card but it's working fine.

Specs:

macOS Sierra 10.12 (16A320)

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)

As promised, i have now received a reply from Apple with regards to this issue:-

" I received a response from our engineers to say that they are aware of this issue and that it is definitely software related. They are currently investigating and will have a fix for it soon. Please make sure you install any MacOS updates as they are released, if I hear of any other updates on the issue I will contact you."

Hopefully this will put users who have this problem minds at rest...

Same issue here.

Thin vertical AND horizontal lines in Time Machine. The lines move with and change with and even at times follow the movement of the curser as can be seen in the following photo. User uploaded file

I've also had artifacts upon shutting down and other odd graphics issues along with the occasional total freeze of the system.

There is a report on 9to5Mac (https://9to5mac.com/2016/12/07/apple-believes-2016-macbook-pro-graphics-issues-a re-addressed-in-macos-10-12-2-update-acc…) stating, that Apple has been addressing graphic glitches, and they believe it is all sorted out with the latest beta version.

I, however, installed that version, and still faced these grey strips. I believe, that they meant fixing other, more serious graphic glitches.

Can somebody verify that who is running the latest beta as well?

I think the majority of posts on this thread relate to the late 2015 5k 27 inch iMac and not the just released MacBook which that article relates to.

However I too would be interested to hear from anyone running the latest beta on iMac 5k late 2015 27 model to see if the graphics issue is still present.

See the release notes…

About the macOS Sierra 10.12.2 Update - Apple Support

Resolves graphics issues on MacBook Pro (Late 2016) computers.

That may cover your Mac & this issue (Apple's vague release notes help no-one).

Personally I'd boot into safe mode in the hopes that it causes the update to system cache files that may not have been refreshed after the update.

Go visit an Apple store & let them know it is still broken if you can do so.

The graphic error which has been fixed refers to a different issue, not the grey strips we all encounter in TimeMachine etc.

I am running the latest beta at the moment, but will install the full update today. But I am not confident that this issue will be resolved.

It is quite hopeless that Apple will fix that soon, I believe. I returned my Macbook, and am using the replacement unit now. As I reported earlier, I still have this problem.

Hi,

I have the same problem.

I also tried a clean install of Sierra, but the problem still there.

I have also noticed strange problems to the Finder window in "Column View":

vertical separetor sometimes doesn't get the bottom of the windows.

I don't think is an HW problem....I thinks is OS bug
