Same issue on my late 2015 Imac ! Sierra last update
Add me to the list!
Same thing here in time machine.
Contacted Apple on phone. They want me to bring it to the Apple Store.
Has anyone actually taken theirs in yet and got an answer?

No, and from I had read I wouldn't bother. They may replace it for you only to find the problem remains.
I did some testing and found out that the lines only appear in HiDPI mode. When I changed to regular 1280x800 without HiDPI, the lines were gone. See the video: https://youtu.be/2NsaGl4xvqQ
Great! I can confirm that these lines do not appear when using an external display.
Is it possible to deactivate the HiDPi mode on the internal display?
I use QuickRes for that. You will experience some loss in sharpness if you don't use native resolution though. 2880x1800 on 15" screen hurts my eyes..
Great news for all of us. Thank you, Chris. Looking forward...
Great news Christopher! Thank you for info 😉
Thanks for the update, hopefully this will resolve the other graphic issues being reported with the strange graphic artefacts on shutdown.
@Christopher Mann,
Thank you so much for the update.
And, thanks to all of the others who participated in this thread.
How do we make people's responses as helpful?
I can't seem to find how to do it.
Thanx! :-) Waiting for the update
Just wondering if there's been any word on when this bug update is coming. I've never see time machine act so poorly. Any word yet?
This remains unfixed in 10.12.4 (sigh). Come on Apple, please fix this cosmetic but annoying bug!
Yes I too have just updated and the 'issue' remains.
I have this problem on my brand-new iMac 27" retina too...
