Deleting songs on ipod? possible?

Can i get rid of some songs on my ipod but not get it off the itunes? cuz i dont ever listen to some songs and need more space for songs i do listen to... Help me out if possible, How can i delete songs on the ipod but not off itunes?

If you were to click once on your iTunes library and press play, so that the songs play continuously or shuffled, it will not play unchecked songs, only checked songs will be played.

To play a checked song you must double click it, which both you and I have stated.

Ok, I see what you're getting at. This all depends on your definition of "disable".

Sure, the unchecked songs get skipped in iTunes when playing back, but they are not disabled as in 'put out of action' as they are still playable.
