iTunes Error 8392

Getting this error message daily: "Could not purchase "APPNAME". An unknown error occurred (8392)

If I keep hitting the "update all apps" button it will eventually download, but it's very frustrating. I've signed out and back into Store, shut-down and restarted Mac (2016 iMac - all updates have been installed), but can't get rid of this error.

Not sure if related to this error, but when syncing both iPad (Air 2) and iPhone (6) (both fully updated to latest software), to iMac/iTunes that all apps do not get updated on iPhone/iPad, I have to do this on the device itself, so lots of duplicated updated activities. I even set up the iPad as new, but the same problem persists

Any ideas?

It is widespread. A was facing the problem on my iMac 27 for months (but neither on the iPhone and the iPad, direct updating worked). A installed a fresh system on the desktop, everything went well. Now since a few days, the problem is back without me having manipulated something. Worse, iPad und iPhone no longer update autonomsly. The wheel is spinning and jumping back to "update" after a few seconds.

Unfortunately I do not have a solution, but wanted to reach up my hand and say "Me too". It is obvious it is a common issue and one that Apple/iTunes support should look into.

However, what struck me while reading the posts here, is that I for a long time have had a similar issue when updating my phone and pad wirelessly ("on the go"): When updating my phone/pad over a network, I almost daily run into an issue where I have to press "Update" (or "Update all") repeatedly before it seem to "hook on" and start to download. Before iOS 10, it even made the whole update process freeze and restart my phone.

Maybe this is actually the same issue?

I came to think of it when a poster here mentioned that he clicked "update all apps" in iTunes repeatedly, and then it started.

And it seem to be something about the update process itself, because my solution on this issue has been to just delete the app "blocking" the update process and then go to the store and download it, which has been without problems.

Just my two cents.

Best wishes,

Espen :-)

I've been seeing this for months. I also see behavior on my iPhone and iPad where updating (either individually or Update All), the app starts updating, then the button goes back to "Update" without doing anything.

I suspect network or server problems. The issue is very sensitive to timing and/or my environment. During the middle of the day either at home or in a coffee shop, it's very frequent. At 3AM, less so.

It may be sensitive to network load at the house or to buffer bloat somewhere. When my nephew is at work and thus not on his Xbox, things seem to go better :-).

My network at home is rather complicated but is based on Comcast/Xfinity and Apple Time Capsule, Apple Airport.

I have the same problem. In iTunes I just keep clicking on "Update" and eventually it will download the update to iTunes. On my iPhone, when I click on update, sometimes it looks as though it is going to update then goes right back to the word "Update". I just keep hitting "Update" until it updates. It's an obvious bug relating to a recent software update....I wish Apple would get it fixed soon.

Another clue I just remembered.

Sometimes when downloading, apps of a similar size take widely different times to download (like 100x longer). If I pause a slow downloading app, wait a bit, and resume it, the app downloads almost immediately just like the other apps.

I see the same behavior downloading podcasts on Downcast so that behavior is not an iTunes issue, but might help diagnose the situation.

I suspect that the slow download is due to a few dropped packets that cause TCP to dramatically reduce the download transmit rate. That might cause the same problem if the "can I download this app" interaction that preceeds the download gets similarly lost.

SAP Error: 25-107

Desc: Error occurred whilst checking out original

SAP Internal Error: 8392

It looks a lot like an SAP internal error being returned through the web application stack.

Apple Support cannot fix it per se: They have to bring it to the attention of the Apple SAP Administrator.

Likely causes - An under configuration of the web store server so that the application is running out of operating system locks, because of increasing number of user requests, so that when multiple users attempt to access a stored app, the web server fails to acquire the lock, and passes the error code up the application stack to the user's iTunes client.
