My iPhone 7 contacts disappear

Patcolumbo, Go to contacts, then to groups, then make sure all groups are checked (check mark).

Hello, if anyone else is having this issue, I found that in the cellular tab, contacts were turned off. This helped my issue. My son has my phone at times(He's 3) and must have found his way to the cellular tab and turned off contacts. 😟

As per Mr T's comments above.

I had OWA running (work emails) work have now blocked me using OWA due to phone being a personal device.

I noticed in my mail settings I had Exchange with incorrect details.

I deleted Exchange I believe this may be the source of my problems. I will restore phone from back up and confirm later.

Following iPhone 7 iOS 11.0.1 upgrade (I did not backup phone)

I found that I had lost some of my contacts, names have disappeared from those who have sent me messages.

I fixed this by restoring from iTunes however I lost a whole month of WhatsApp, text, notes etc,

When the next upgrade was available I backed up phone to iCloud, then I backed up to my PC and Macbook!!

iOS 11.0.2 -Software was upgraded successfully.

It is now 2 days after the upgrade. My Phone / Contacts were fine, all of a sudden it's happened again!!

I tried contacts

Groups

All iCloud (ticked)

OWA (ticked)

unticked and switched back on no joy!!

I have restarted the phone still no Joy

I am useing IPHONE since last 5 years and now I have brought a new IPHONE 7 and when I use my apple User I'd and iCloud my existing contacts are not showing in contacts

ie : when I call one of my friend that time my contacts are not showing in contacts scerach..

Hi I bought a iPhone 7 recently and have synced my contacts through gmail and iCloud .. My contact list says it has 856 contacts when I Scroll down the list of my contacts on this phone but in actual there are only a hundred contacts seen and the other numbers are not to be seen. For example the contact Jawahar is synced through my accounts but I can’t find the name in my contacts. When I dial the number of Jawahar it says Jawahar below which means its saved. But the name does not appear when I scroll down through my contacts of search his name in my contacts. What am I supposed to do for this weird glitch ?

I think I've found the answer to this issue. If you click on groups while in contacts and select all of the available groups but most importantly "contacts" this will show the contacts back as normal. I'm not sure if this is the same for everyone but it appears that after the update only "iCloud" contacts is selected in the groups on my phone.

Contacts disappearing on iphone 7 with OS 10.2

And also pictures, mails, calenders, apps docs, ...

This is a big problem and as I can read on the internet in many blog and forum, many people have this issue...!!!

Already since iphone 4...

I bought my new iphone 7 and installed from icloud, Perfect installation and everything is there and works!

This is what happened...

-I

add a new telephone number to my iphone contacts to add a friend to Whatsapp.

-My iphone Contacts disappear.

-My iphone Calenders disappear.

-My ipone Foto's disappear.

-My Mails disappear.

-Several apps have lost data.

-My phone settings change random.

This is what I do...

-I delete Whatsapp

-I restart

-I switch off and on icloud

-I switch off and on gmail

-I reset and reinstall from icloud

-i reinstall Whatsapp

-i repeat all of this +10 times...

All of these steps many times...

NO RESULTS - NOTHING COME BACK

Remarks...

-Icloud gave me a choice to reinstall so I choose a backup from 3 weeks before. Sure this one is ok!!!

When startup I could see my Contacts for less than 1 second... and gone again!!!

-I retype some of my contacts and after I do a backup on icloud to be sure.

-I typed my contacts new in the app switched to 'in my phone'. If I switch off icloud now they disappear again... If I switch on again they come back and now include useful numbers from my telephone company???

Also I cannot see the 'in my iphone' setting anymore for contacts???

My idea...

-Something seriously wrong with my iphone or the OS or the icloud...?

-i read blogs and everything I could find about this problem... Many people have this issue and most of them did not succeed getting them back...???

I was suffering from this problem but my issue was that those contacts dissapearing were assigned to my email address, so when I would deselect to have my contacts fro that email add, they would disappear .

You do not indicate how you are syncing these contacts and what you are syncing them to.

If you do not describe the issue, it is very difficult for anyone to find a solution. I'm using iCloud on my iPhone 7 and my contacts are syncing just fine, as well as my calendar.

Try describing the situation and everything involved, and what troubleshooting you have tried.
