My iPhone 7 contacts disappear

EIght of us are using the i phone 7 and most of us encounter the same issue of contacts not syncin. The solution we have found so far is to restart the phone. Could you imagine when you are in a hurry to get through to a person in your contacts restarting your phone!!!

It is very strange that Apple haven't found a solution to this issu.

You still are telling us anything. Okay, your contacts disappear, but then reappear when you turn the phone off/on? Where are the contacts to start with? Are they on a supported application on the computer? Are they in iCloud? Are they synced to another cloud service such as Gmail, etc., or work Exchange?

If we can determine where they are, it can explain why they reappear. Then we would just need to try and determine why they disappear. And, what is the connection between the eight of you. Do you all use the same carrier, the same Apple ID, the same sync services, what? Is this an Exchange account from work? Or is it just random that there are eight of you?

What I meant by syncing is, that my contacts does not appear in the contact list occasionally. I am also using the icloud for my mail, contacts, notes, calander and reminders. All my contacts are stored in the contacts app apple has provided.

As trouble shooting, I have followed the procedure given under 'get help using icloud contacts, calandres or reminders' and the problem occurred after following the steps given in that too.

Instead of turning the phone off and back on, have you tried turning iCloud sync off for contacts and then turn that back on? Seems to me there is some type of disconnect in your internet connection that would cause your contacts to be missing like that, but then come back. You can also try logging out of your iCloud account on the phone and then back on again. I've not experienced any issues like this with my iPhone 7, and I use iCloud for both my contacts and calendar. Does this seem to be when you are connected to wi-fi, or to cellular data, or to both?

What is the difference between those of you having issues in this group and those not? Do you use a different cellular carrier? Do you have different settings for your cellular data?

Yes I have done that as well. What I feel is that the iOS 10.1.1 has an issue with some handsets. The iphone 6s which I used for the last one year without any issue was also having the same problem ever since I upgraded it to the iOS 10.1.1.

This occurs when I am on both wifi and cellular data. To be very precise out of eight, six of us were having this issue and all eight are using the same carrier and located in the same office. As per your advice, if the problem persists I will log out and log in from my icloud account. As a matter of fact, I have been a very loyal apple user ever since the apple 4 and have not had any issues with any of my devices.

The analysis of my IT guys are that it is bug on the iOS 10.1.1. Anyhow, I didn't encounter this issue for the last two days and hope it is sorted out.

Well, I'm using an iPhone 7 with iOS 10.1.1 and have no issues with contacts, and neither do any of the people that I work with, so I'm not convinced this is an iOS issue. It also seems rather strange that 6 of 8 people in the same office are having an issue. Are these iCloud contacts, or are they Exchange contacts? I believe you have said iCloud, but either way, you would have 6 different iCloud accounts to content with, and that seems to be a strange happening, and it went across 2 different devices.
