Since I update my iphone se to ios 10.1.1 my battery life has decreased dramatically. I know of others having the same problem, worse on iPhone 5s for my mom, please fix!!

Took the 10.1.1 update yesterday, wish I read up about it first. My iPhone 6s Plus turned off abruptly at 23% and showed the charge required image when I tried to turn it back on. I plugged it in and then it read 33% battery, so this update has bugs that either reduce the battery life itself, or inaccurately read it.

Apple, we need an update ASAP, I don't want to have to reset or roll back my phone.

Have the exact same problem with a 5S and a 6S.

With all background refresh disabled, wifi off, visual effects off etc, the phones still only have battery enough to last 4-5 hours before being completely drained. Yes, that is without eving using the phones. Battery app indicates that wear level is 7% on the 6S (bought 11 months ago) and 10% on the 5S (bought 25 months ago).

Both were working absolutely fine before I updated to 10.1.1.

Apple, you need to fix this now.

Iphone 6S with 10.1.1 14B100

Same problem today. The battery was around 70% and the phone just shut down. At first is showed the "plug the phone in" screen but after trying again it started to boot up again. It worked for a few seconds and then crashed (though I could see the battery was still actually around 70%). This happened repeatedly as I was away from home and couldn't plug in. Eventually I gave up and put the phone in my pocket. About 2-3 hours later, I tried turning on the phone again and it booted up normally and stayed up with normal battery behavior, i.e. gradually depleting at a normal rate and then charging normally when I plugged it in. It has been about 8 hours since the problem first occurred and no re-occurence. This happened to someone else I know who also eventually had their phone start working again and they have not had a repeat yet. Chances are this will happen again at some point so I'm eager to hear about some real solution to this.

Hi from Italy, i have a iphone 6 with ios10.1.1.

I have drain from battery very quick, from 100% to 30% in 3 hours without using it and then it switch off ...

I am in contact with apple care support from 3 weeks it seems they know everything but they want to make the time pass away to gain time for ios 10.2.

They have released an update that fuckedup our phones ... very very disgusted about this

I am having the same issue with my iphone 7. Had the EXACT same issues with the 6S and I had to get a replacement from my carrier and that helped a lot and replacement was fine. Then I upgraded to 7 and I am having the same issues. I noticed it last night for the first time. Thankfully since I have only had the phone 3 weeks they are letting me come in and do an even exchange. Hopefully this works. I don't understand why Apple didn't acknowledge this sooner and try to fix it on the 7.

That's what it does. You keep it off for a few hrs then it starts working again. In a day or two the phone will start doing the same thing again. You should go to apple and see what they say. They told me there were no known issues when it happened to my 6S, but there were a lot of known issues about this. I told them the update did it and they said no it wasn't the update and proceeded to keep telling me what I needed to do to fix the battery life mind you I had already done that. Now I have the 7 and its been 3 weeks and this phone is doing the same thing again. So my carrier is letting me go in and do an even exchange for the phone.

There is another thread about iPhone 6S dying in marginally cold weather that seems related:

iPhone 6 battery dies in cold weather

Seems people have a very similar problem but they have correlated it to temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. In my case, the temperature was about 4C and the phone recovered after i had it in my jeans pocket for a while so this may be related to temperature. Either way, it appears that Apple has a battery replacement program that may apply to some people:

I haven't checked this yet but I'm of the opinion that my problems started with 10.1.1 as I've had my phone for over a year and I've been through one previous winter with no such issues.
