I did update my iPad mini 4 to the newest build of 10.1.1 and haven't noticed a change in battery. It's still being consumed rapidly. If 10.2 doesn't fix the issue I will be taking my iPad back. I'm still in my year warranty.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 7+. Before update, it lasted 2 days with a single charge. now my battery only last less than half a day!!! Hope update will fix this issue!
I'm running iOS 10.1.1 (14B100) on iPhone 6. Today (Dec. 2, 2016) was typical in the strange battery behavior:
1. Battery indicator says 25%; began to update several apps and 30 seconds later the "low batter" message pops up; when dismissed it shows 1%. I quickly plug in the charger and in about two minutes it shows 35%.
2. The battery indicator says 28%; the phone is plugged into its charger. I reboot the phone, but it still shows 28%. Removing the charging cable, within just a few seconds the battery indicator shows 1%.
Please help.
Dan
I had the same battery drain issue for few days following the latest update 10.1.1(14B150). I noticed that some apps failed to stop running in the background which is likely the cause for battery drain. I restarted the phone twice and the battery drain issue is gone. I am now back to normal battery life as before the update, which lasts me 2 days with light use.
I own two iphone 5 and ever since I updated to OS 10.1.1 I've had to restore both phones several times due to the sudden battery too low problem and one of my two iphones has a brand new battery. Now both my iphone 5 won't even allow me to restore them before one of them stops part way through the process and says "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)."
After google searching article online I came across an article in techradar.com which suggests if you are one of the many who's iphone has been rendered unreliable since updating to the OS 10.1.1, a fix is to downgrade your iphone to OS 9.
Here is the link to this article:
To downgrade to OS 9 is suggests looking on your computer that you use to back-up your iphone and if you had backed-up your iphone prior to updating to OS 10, you should be able to find an OS 9.3.2 IPSW file. I searched and could find no such fie on my laptop. The article also says if you can find an OS 9.3.2 IPSW file on your computer, you can download one from a trusted website but you will then lose all of your backed-up data such as contacts, photos etc. It also mentions Apple stopped adding signatures to OS 9 IPSW files so, I think the article suggest you can use itunes to update back down to OS 9 if the IPSW is not signed.
Has anyone tried fixing their OS 10 issues by downgrading to OS 9 and can you share more insights on the step by step process and what was your results? Also mention which model iphone you have please.

Add me to the masses now stuck with not one but two useless iphone 5 (one has a new battery) now that I updated to OS 10.1.1
I came across an article online
which suggest rolling back to OS 9 by using an IPSW file.
Has anyone had success rolling back to OS 9?
No you can't if Apple isn't signing the iOS version tou want to install. Versions can be downloaded manually from https://ipsw.me showing which Version is still being signed by Apple. Cheers
BTW, if you are considering to down grade to 10.1 (the earliest signed iOS version), it did not help me. I ended up biting the bullet two weeks ago and bought a 6s, I got tried of carry around a brick (5s) in my pocket. Call me either optimistic or naive, I don't believe Apple created this issue just to sell more phones. That being said, the first thing I did is upgrade to the latest iOS version while I could still return the phone with no cost impact. The 6s has performed flawless so far.
Unfortunately, if you look further back in this thread you'll see that iPhone 6S has just as many examples of this problem and in fact there is a recall for phones made last year. Maybe new 6S phones are better; however, my problem is very intermittent. I've been looking at another thread that suggests that the problem may be related to colder weather in some cases.
Check if you are eligible for that replacement of faulty batteries. Turns out my phone is and I am experiencing all that you describe : https://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone6s-unexpectedshutdown/
you fuckhole, you don't understand what people encountering after ios 10.1.1 update.
take immediate action to report your headquarter and resolve the issue immediately
Good luck! I've had this problem for a while, ever since iOS 9x.
Battery would drop dramatically, quickly. I could be at 70%, then after 15 min be at 30%, then if you don't plug in quick enough - phone dies. And yes, if you're anywhere from 20-40%, the phone could just shut off instantly. Also, sometimes I would plug in at say 15%, then instantly the battery would jump to 50+%.
My wife and I both had iPhone 5s', and enjoyed them greatly. I updated the OS when the next gen 6 came out, but held off when the new OS rolled out with the 6s. Why? Because the latest OS seems to ALWAYS nerf the old phones battery life. Happened with my 4s, and my 3s before it.
Had prayed it would be different and was not surprised AT ALL. If you ask an Apple Genius, they know it's a problem, even if they can't diagnose it for you, and there's nothing they can do about it. Some will actually simply blame you, the consumer, and your usage. "Oh look, you use this _____ app a lot, that's why". To which I'd say, I've been using that app for a year and no problems, not until the update.
This is one of the great flaws of iPhones and ****** me off about them. I would switch if I didn't enjoy the form factor and other things about the system, other than this terrible battery life issue.
This is the north american version of this link though presumably the search is the same:
My phone didn't originally seem to show up on this list but does now so it's possible they are extending it to more phones (it's also possible I misread the first result). Either way, this is clearly a known issue - at least for 6S phones.
My IPhone SE started to power down automatically at %30 battery remaining when I updated to 10.1.1 as well. It just happened again this morning which is why I took to the Apple forms to find a solution. I found this instead so I'm asking if Apple can hurry up and release an update which will fix this issue
