FCPX DVD export bad quality.

I have been exporting DVDs from FCPX for a number of years. Both off the timeline and also via compressor. The quality has always been, DVD quality.

Since the new update,10.3, the quality the has been very bad. I first thought it was compressor so I exported a test DVD direct from the timeline via > share > dvd > etc. Whats happening is there are sharp lines during movements on the video that are very distracting.

Anyone else having an issue like this since the new update?

You need the trial version of of the current software but of the older software 10.2.3. Is that not working for you either?

This is completely different. We need to see what you're talking about. Post a file somewhere like Dropbox or WeTransfer.

Hi Luis,

Info for the clips is: 720 x 576 25i Rec.601 PAL Stereo 48khz Codecs: DVC PAL, Linear PCM

(I'm UK based, hence PAL)

The info for the projects is the same.

Also - if the problem is with the original footage, why is it also affecting intro titles that don't incorporate any of the footage?

Did you try Tom's suggestion of downloading the trial of 10.2.3 to see if the results are different?

Did you use an interlaced project and see the interlacing in DVD Player?

The QTX player suppresses interlacing unfortunately. Makes it unreliable for this kind of thing.

Am I using the Pros Res file with the interlacing to make the disk image? Or is it possible for 10.2.3 to read my project?
