FCPX DVD export bad quality.

I have been exporting DVDs from FCPX for a number of years. Both off the timeline and also via compressor. The quality has always been, DVD quality.

Since the new update,10.3, the quality the has been very bad. I first thought it was compressor so I exported a test DVD direct from the timeline via > share > dvd > etc. Whats happening is there are sharp lines during movements on the video that are very distracting.

Anyone else having an issue like this since the new update?

Use the ProRes file in 10.2.3. You can’t use the 10.3 project in 10.2.3 unless you send an XML 1.5 version. ProRes would be safer.

I "used" to could edit and burn without using "create opt media". They always looked fine. Now it all junk.

You don't have to optimize media. It's not a requirement. And anyway the problem has nothing to do with optimization. It's the output file that's the problem.

I pulled in a bluray file burned from 10.3.4

imported to 10.2.3 hoping to correct the "nasty-look" burned back to a dvd

looks the same as if i exported to a dvd in 10.3.4
