Wifi keeps dropping in Windows 10 (BootCamp) on new tbMBP 15"

Keeps dropping and reconnecting. Pretty sure it's not the wifi because on MacOS and my iPhone, both have stable connections. It's probably a driver issue, anyone know a fix?

The only thing we can do now is to wait for updated Broadcom drivers am I right?

You can try to run Wireshark and capture WLAN packets or use this MSDN article - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd569141(v=vs.85).aspx - to get a bit closer on why the driver does not work. AE may not be able to duplicate each and every field scenario in the Lab, so these may help find root cause(s).

If you want to try this, please create a Windows System Restore point first.

Uninstall the current Broadcom driver for the Wireless and Wired adapters, delete the adapters from Device Manager, and without rebooting, scan for hardware changes, and manually install Broadcom 802.11n driver from Windows Update. This may give you an older Broadcom legacy driver. Please note version number and test. If it works, use https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2500967 to disable any further updates of these drivers.

Hi Loner,

Thank you for the info. I had tried this approach before. None of the available drivers listed worked (Device could not start).

Also please clarify:

-When you uninstall the NIC driver, it is automatically removed from device manager, there is no device to remove. Then after a hardware scan the device appears as unknown.

-Manually install driver cannot be performed via Windows update without an external NIC in operation. I take it you mean select from the list of pre-installed Broadcom drivers?

After you remove the device/driver, before the Scan for Hardware, can you use pnputil.exe to remove Broadcom driver from the Driver Store? Once removed, browse for a drive and choose from the Broadcom list and select the 802.11n driver and test.

I have been suffering from similar issues. Low speeds and disconnects every 3-5 minutes. Checked the event viewer, full of DNS client events and WLAN auto-config errors. Tried setting the DNS to Google DNS and disabled Windows Firewall no change. I disabled every toggle in Windows Defender settings. The disconnect issue seems to have been resolved.

Since disabling Windows Defender, I have not had any disconnects. This has held for about the last half hour. I will report back if the issue reemerges.
