Mail won't sign in to msn account since they switched to outlook. on iPhone, when setting up new account, I can select outlook as an option - and that worked. on iMac OS X sierra, there's no outlook option. I tried "other mail account" but that doesn't work. any suggestions?

Everyone seems to be having this problem with MSN/Hotmail all of a sudden. I tried this suggestion, and it just shows a red dot next to the account in the Mail App, and says "offline".
Thanks for trying. I got no joy with this either... it set the account up (thanks!!), which is more than before, but still offline. 😟
So - I did this yesterday, and while it added the account - it still wouldn't go live. Woke up this morning...and magically the mail is back online. Thanks!!!
This was fixed by Microsoft, as of today. The problem was caused by Microsoft, and fixed by Microsoft.

Change to an email provider whose product works all the time. Even in the morning.
well...it works fine, 24/7 on my iPhone, but not on my iMac. so while I'd like to kick msn...I'm not sure it's all them. but thanks
