Flickering and pixelated screen

I've had my new MacBook Pro for about a week now, already the screen has started flickering. Today the whole screen became all pixelated and glitchy to the point that I couldn't see the mouse cursor moving. I reset the MacBook and now it's still flickering. I'm taking it in to be repaired on Friday the 2nd as this was the earliest time I could book it in.

It ***** when you spend a lot of money on new gear and it doesn't work.

This is my first Apple computer, I thought Apple had this kinda stuff under control. . .

I've owned several computers in my life and none of them have ever had hardware issues. . .

I guess I was unlucky.

Anyone else had this problem or know of a fix? I'm guessing it's hardware, but maybe its a software problem?
Cheers

Hi,

Personally, I wouldn't settle for a new repaired computer. If you're still in your 14 day return period, I'd return it either for a refund or a new MBP.

Alright so after 2 calls with Apple the only thing that happened was that they walked me through a local hardware test on this machine, and then suggested for me to go to my local Apple Store and have an appointment with them. Then, it's possible that they'll fix/replace it, but first I would have to do that.

Considering this:

It might be fixed in software updates after all (let's hope), but I made an appointment nevertheless. Will keep you posted, if you hear anything else, please let me know too. Thanks 🙂
