Time Machine constantly making new backup

Just found this on a google search because I am getting the same message. I've had my TC for several years and this is the first time I've experienced this.

Hi. I thought that I had post my painful experience with Apple last month. It reverted to how things had been pre Sierra making auto daily backups. Then I git these messages a week or so ago.

I can definitely relate to the cynicism. My only glimmer of hope here is that the incidence of the issue seems to be so much greater with Sierra that Apple will be forced to take it seriously now.

For what it's worth, Apple did tell me that they are "working on it" when I last spoke to them about six months ago.

This has now started with me as well. I'm not doing backup to a Time Capsule but a LaCie 4TB in Raid. I hope we see a solution to this in order for backups to start making sense again.

Changing the backup interval will unfortunately not change the fact that Time Machine must back up to a "network drive". That is the real issue here.

My network drive is connected and shared via a macOS Sierra Server. It holds multiple backups. However it seems that I am the only one affected by this.

Six years and counting. My opinion is that Apple is not going to fix the issue, but for the benefit of others, I hope that I am wrong.

I realize it is just putting off the inevitable, but then death is also inevitable, and I am trying to put that off for as long as possible too!

I think we should involve more publications and blogs to raise awareness about this. After all, currently Apple are selling a product that doesn't work.

I'm waiting for an official response....in writing...from Apple. I think that the wait will be very long.

Nope, I have a clean install of Sierra.

The only real way to get Apples attention here is to go public. Share this thread with your favorite Apple/Mac-blog. I urge everyone to do this.

Here same issue. Started with Sierra. Backing up to a Synology drive over WiFi. Used to work flawlessly but since Sierra I am recreating backups at least twice a week. Very frustrating.
