display!

Same problem here. My daughters iMac (ser W8545) has two lines. I used to swear by Macs because I thought they were a higher standard of quality. Apple appears to purposely be ignoring the issue.

This is not the only thread I've found about this problem.

Anyone know of a class action lawsuit regarding this? If so I'll be happy to join it.

My father's iMac G5 (iSight), that he bought in November 2005, now has a single white line across its display (from top to bottom). It seems that he's not alone here! Please Apple, help!

Vertical Lines on My iMac ;-( Doesn't look so pretty with them.

Apple has a service program for (now at least) earlier iMac G5's within a specific Serial # range. Here is a link to see if yours qualifies....

Otherwise, I suggest a call into Apple and make a formal complaint and get a case #. Yours isn't an isolated case. If this particular issue is reported enough times then Apple would be foolish not to extend the service program to cover all iMacs that are faulty or defective.

Asking customers to pay for expensive repairs to faulty parts just a little time out of the standard warranty is not good for their business. They need to step up and sort this out.

I have a 1 inch thick black vertical line going down the right side of my display!!!! That started about 3 weeks ago, "of course" right out of warranty, and now my entire screen has a solarized appearence to it. The line was very annoying, but I was able to continue my Photo editing. The solarized Problem has forced me to abandon the imac G5 and revert back to my old G4, Which amazingly still works perfect 7 years later!! According to posted serial #s in this forum My computer comes from the same lot W854-- as the other display problems. Apple needs to address this issue!! It is obvious there is a defect with this lot. But then again, Their probably just going to sacrafice quality for market share.
