Ios 10.2 draining battery FAST!

I installed IOS 10.2 on 12/12/16. Phone was 100% charged at 7:00 pm; at 4:00 am on 12/13/16 the battery was completely discharged.

What changed in IOS 10.2 to affect battery usage like this?

iPhone SE, iOS 10.2

after updating my iphone 6 to 10.2 i had all these same symptoms - phone would run about 7 hours doing absolutely nothing before dying. i suggest that the problem has something to do with the mail push/fetch setting and/or location services being reset. after calling apple support and restoring my phone to original, i still saw no improvement. i came across this article - http://www.payetteforward.com/why-does-my-iphone-battery-die-so-fast-heres-the-r eal-fix/. after working through the list i am a happy camper. my phone is now 3 days from a full charge: battery is at 76%. i might even add some shut down services back on. good luck.

This is rediculous!

I installed IOS 10.2(14C92) yesterday and the battery cut-off problem became much worse!!

My iPhone 6 quickly becomes unusable in temperatures less than 45F.

7:33pm. 64%... with no apps running.

7:39pm. 1%... was able to take 3 pix.

7:40pm shut down

8:18pm was able to reboot with 39%. Phone was warmed up in my pocket.

IMO Something is going wrong with the temperature sensor and the firmware is, of course, whacked.

It's not Siri or anything any of these Apple spokesmen on the site will tell you. It's bad software and it's been bad for all 6 releases since mid-September. Apple should be out of business over this. I have an iPhone 6 with only the OS running, just sitting on my counter and it drains just like everyone else describes. No apps running, just sitting.

Apple needs to fix this, but it appears they have no idea. 6 releases since September! They're throwing darts! 10.2.1 does nothing to address the problem. It's software written for the iPhone 7 that kills iPhone 5 & 6 ... which I have all three.

*** MY FIX ***

I've been into this since the purchase of my iph7.

Battery drain 10% hourly in standby and on sight during usage!

It was 10.1 out the box, then after 10.2 things got even worst. My best friend purchased the 7plus, and went to similar problems, so i guess it was some software bug and went to manipulate several options till i've got this workaround:

(Meanwghile waiting for a fixed ios update...)

1) Disabled background app refresh

2) Disabled several push notifications of mostly all the apps i dont care to be notified about, including messages

3) Disabled imessage and facetime

4) Disabled ALL siri settings, including heysiri option, and touch/home long press detection...in a way if you long press the home button, the phone does nothing.

Now i'm back to: Starting the morning at 100%, getting the night still at 50% after a whole day usage.

Hoping Apple will fix soon this.

Same quick battery drain issue here. Had no real battery drain issues until updating my iPhone 6s to iOS 10.2 about a week ago. I had put off the update and now I'm sorry I updated. I also updated my wife's iPhone 6s and she is also experiencing the same issue. I went through both phones attempting to optimize settings even though issue didn't exist prior to the update and still no luck. Lost 7% just logging in this site and typing my post. iOS 10.2 made the iphone feel snappier to me but not worth the battery drain.

I m iPhone 6 user.

I have the same battery issue that drive me crazy. Once I have unplugged the charger, the battery level plummeted immediately. It's unexplicably!! The fastest one that I could recall is the iPhone switch off itself in 2 hours right after my lunch time.

I have bought another iPhone 7 yesterday, but then I sudden have a thought that this may be the sales strategy to boost the Apple sales through making new bugs to caused the old iPhone crashed or outage. As a result, the customer think it is time to buy a new iPhone during Christmas & New Year as a present. Lovely!!

I'm also having the same exact problem on my iPhone 6. It was running outstanding before I upgraded to 10.1. Then I noticed the battery was depleting rapidly. The problem was resolved in 10.1.1 and now is back again in 10.2. I've tried several hard restarts. It also just suddenly conks out at about 15%. I followed the instruction for optimizing the battery life and still it's bleeding power rapidly. Apple needs to resolve this issue...again.

Ok I managed to fix issue, now 3 hours while using iPhone to play music via airplay for about 1 hours, a little minutes call & recording video & surfacing on web, only 4% of my battery drained.

I just turned off Siri & did following tips:

Do it.

Definitely something wrong with iOS 10 and up. My phone goes from 100% to 1% in 30min sometimes and if I'm lucky it might last 1hr. It drains so fast that sometimes it jumps from 20%+ to no warning and just sits shuts down. I'm currently on iOS 10.2 , iPhone 6. And yes I have done all of what has been recommended by others to turn off background apps and x y z etc etc etc... thing is once I do all that ... why have the phone!? Before ios10 I used to be running all the time a game empires and allies made by Zynga and the traffic program waze ... both which are huge memory hoggers! However my memory would still last a few hours at the least but now running both or 1 only battery is gone in 15min. Is. It necessarily the apps because my wife has a iPhone 5s and was on 10.0 until 30min and never had battery problems and she plays Pokémon go all the time .. after upgrading the iPhone from 10.0 to 10.2, within 5min from unlocking the phone after the upgrade the battery went from 100% to 92%... now it is at 70% .. I just look at her and said why did you upgrade!? She said cuz 10.2 has new emoticons! I said wow! U traded a good version to a piece of sh*** one to drain your battery for new emoticons!! She had a choice not to upgrade ... my phone is a company phone and I'm required to keep it updated !!! I have been trying to get work to switch us all at work to iphone7 however seeing me all these post that the issue is also in iphone7 phones.. makes it hard to build a case for the company to upgrade us all...

I would hope Apple will address the problem and put out a fix instead of giving the blind eye to the problem, own up to the bug instead of trying to say the battery is bad or phone is bad or other apps are the problem . Apple you have ton of developers and ton of iPhone devices version 5-7, I'm sure you can and have reproduced the problem in your labs! Install ios9 on a phone let it run a few apps games YouTube safari and click how long battery lasts... then upgrade it to 10.2 and run the same apps... voila I bet you will get same results that not 1 or 2 or 5 or 100 people are complaining but that 1000s of people are complaining and that's just the one willing to write up about it all over social media not including those that don't voice their issues.

FIX BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE!!!!

currently I have only safari running and this page open ... started my post I was at 100% and I unplugged from charger ...by the time I'm about to click reply below shows I'm at 88% already! Wow and only took me about 15min or less to type!

Using Facebook and Messenger and Safari and Mail etc.. things seem just fine. However, when I use my DJI GO app to control my drone, I go from 80% down to dead/11% in 5-10 minutes. Not even an exaggeration. I cannot fly my drone with my phone at all.

What's odd is, it seems to be just fine best I can tell during every day usage but when using the DJI Go app, massive drain I've never seen before. It is not normal.

I reinstalled the app and that didn't help.

iPhone 6+, not jailbroken or anything, iOS 10.2 or whatever latest iOS is.
