Perfectly working iphone 7. Updated to 10.2 day before yesterday and battery drains super fast - cannot get through day, even when not using phone. There are no other changes to phone. Could easily get 1 and 1/2 days before update.
iphone 6 - was fine until updated with 10.2 . Now it randomly shuts down at around 43% or 42% of battery. Have to restart phone and then it often shuts off without notice. There are no other changes to phone.
Apple, you really messed up our phones, can we roll them back to pre-update? This cannot stand for more than a day or two, we can't be tethered to power all day long.
I just chatted with Apple & they told me to go to settings-privacy-diagnosis- and they run a operation on my 6S. He said there is no issue with my battery and after several questions asked me to restore my iPhone & also it's ok to use iCloud backup but not PC backup.
I still didn't restore that but I will do it soon, maybe you people should try that too, and remember you can use iCloud backup but not iTunes pc backup.

I Consulted with a lab :seems ip6 batteries last 18-24months.
That is an interesting estimate. I'd have to question it though. My Iphone 4S is coming up on 6 years old, original battery, still works well, and checks in at 90% of original capacity.
There's no words to describe this situation. My family have got ip6 ip5s and ip4s. Only 4s still working!!!!
Issue battery was born since iOS 10.
The issue was only with gps usage. After, ios 10.1 and 10.2 is still present and worst.
Apple please go out of my life, it's not possible develop new emoticon, new theatre mode and leave your clients without a trust smartphone!!!!!
I've been having the same issue, iPhone 7 only two months old. Started pretty much from set up. Tried all the fixes, even setting up as new. Nothing worked, finally got an appointment with the Apple Store today, where they told me there were a couple of other small issues. Swapped my phone, advised me to set up as new again, which I've done, and guess what? Exactly the same issue, brand new phone, doing the same thing out of the box. No way could there be an issue with the phone, even I couldn't be that unlucky. It is without a doubt iOS, they need to sort this ****, and quick.
I have my iphone 6s completely reset after update 10.2,
1. Make sure your iPhone or iPad is fully charged or connect it to a charging cable.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Go to General.
4. Scroll down to select Reset.
5. Select the Erase All Content and Settings.
6. Please confirm you want to delete all.
Since that works iphone 6s very well without battery drain.
Do u confirm that your battery drain on iOS 10.2 on your 6S fully solved by doing this? Did u used iCloud backups at least? Such notes & comtacts?
Pls respond I really need to sure whether this works or not.
Thx
@Amooei If you want to keep your data, choose the "Reset All Settings" option. Using "Reset All Settings" worked for me. You will have to reenter some passwords and you will be prompted to update settings for various apps as needed.
I did a complete reset and manually restored my apps. Didn't work and made no difference. My battery life has been brutal since 10.2 update, and I refuse to by a new phone, especially since people with 7s are experiencing the same issues, and the fact that a phone has a two-year life is absurd. I won't drop the money for a battery replacement at this point since it will likely run me close to $120 and still may not solve the problem. Very frustrating.

I tried the reset all settings on an iPhone 6s+. It changed the behaviour somewhat but I did not resolve it completely. For example my phone now seems to drain a bit slower than before the Reset, but it drained from 33% to 14% overnight (which is unusual) and they suddenly shut down at 12%. Would not turn on for about 10 minutes (would give the plug into power icon). but then turned on after 10 minutes and now is sitting at 13% and fine for over 1/2 an hour.
Well after several attempts and a 'RESTORE TO FACTORY SETTINGS' and restore from backup I finally threw in the towel and cashed in on my Apple Care Plus. Today I surrendered my beloved 6 with 10.2 and had Apple replace it with a new one running 10.0.2. It's what came pre-installed. And everything seems to be running as it should, Although iOS 9 was probably more optimal for this phone. But doing the 'FACTORY RESTORE' wipe slightly alleviated the battery drain by what seemed 25-30%. It just seems Apple is prematurely killing the 6 line for some reason. If you get the 6 don't upgrade past 10.1.1. That's when everything went off the rails. Hope this helps.
Same thing here, my battery was just at 68% got a notification that my battery was low and by the time I had closed it the battery was at 1%, I immediately switched on my battery case and now it's slowly climbing, currently at 17%, if this is a software bug it could cause some very serious issues like overcharging which could be dangerous if the phone can't properly monitor the lithium cells capacity.
looking for solutions. i have jumped through all the hoops with some success. my phone will now go for a couple of days before needing a charge. having said this, i have shut down all background updates, all system services, and i'm very careful to force terminate anything that might want to be using radio or gps services. so what i have now is a dumb phone that will run for a couple of days if i don't use it. i suspect the problem is somewhere in the use of either wifi or cell service. i note that i installed an update to my sevice provider stuff about the same time as the ios 10.2 update. i would suggest that the fix therefore is to abandon your 'smart' phone services and don't use it much, (anybody see the problem here?)
Well, this morning battery level100%, I called for 3 minutes (no other apps running). Then I went off to work, 20minutes driving. When I came at work the battery level was 37%. I plugged it in and immediately the battery level was 87%.
iphone6, ios 10.2
I experience something similar. Battery drains extremely quickly between 100% and 90%. Slowly between 89%-84% (approx.), but drops by 3% or 4% intermittently very quickly until it levels out in the low-60s, and then drains steadily until it hits the 30s, and then drains slowly. I arrived at work this morning at 7:45 with a battery percentage of 88%. Put it on airplane mode, but still have it connected to wifi. Have not used it all day except to send one text message. As of 3:45 it is at 48%. No apps running in background. iPhone 6.
