com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service quit unexpectedly
why do i keep getting a problem report saying com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service quit unexpectedly.
MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.1)
We are having this problem in the Philippines too. Annoying AF!
Cleared cache, history and restarted my laptop but that didn't work.
Sending an email to Mac Support now. Not sure when I'll get an email from them.
Me too! Just started today.
Seeing this too in Boston - none of the suggested solutions has worked for me
Me too. Just started a few minutes ago and I am not even running Safari. What gives, Apple?
this started on all my computers today and i never use/d safari!
this seems to help temporarily:
launchctl remove com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing.Service
Leventv, I think the workaround you gave worked for me... so far, although my path was different:
/private/var/folders/g9/pm43w8dn44g1qffnl01frns80000gn/C/com.apple.Safari.SafeBr owsing/google
Thanks,
I did the same and it seems to have stopped the popups. I guess I'm not safe browsing anymore?
Since trying Finder>Go>Library>Caches, open Caches ,> select all > move to trash and restart computer it has been fine. I'll let you know if it comes back. Everything is working as it should and kept everything in the trash in case there were any problems.
I think we are still "safe"...go to the folder and you should have the same files, only newer.
So far, this is also working for me (2 machines, 10.12.2), though as you noted my paths were different too.
Thanks, Google!
Interesting... I had this issue this morning when clearing browser cache seemed to help. The problem came back this evening... And I'd say it came back around the time stamp of the files in that folder (In Finder Cmd-G to /private/var/folders/ and search for google finds the directory).
I have deleted (moved to trash) the three files that showed up in there... Its been silent for a minute now - which is much better than it was!
This totally worked! My path is /private/var/folders/lp/RANDOM_STRING_HERE/C/com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing/Goog le/
deleted 3 files there, files will be recreated there, and the dialog is not appearing any more. Thanks @leventv !
Thanks a lot. It did the trick for me. (Montréal QC) But what now ?
@Leventv and @pcabarga, your advice worked a treat. Thanks!
Same for me.
deleted the 3 files into /private/var/folders/....../com.apple.Safari.SafeBrowsing/Google
Somebody (or something) recreates newer one, but now it is silent.
