Solution to new repeated com.apple.Safari.History Crash On iTunes 12.5 Launch After Reboot 10.11.6?

My Macbook Pro retina mid-2015 1TB SSD 16GB RAM has been running OK with regularly used apps, but immediately since update to OS X 10.11.6 (latest version) EVERY time iTunes 12.5.4.42 (latest version) is launched, even after a full reboot with no other apps launched, a crash report appears stating that com.apple.Safari.History has crashed.

Curious if others had this happen too. I do send reports to Apple every time, but just checking if someone has figured out what is causing it .Thanks.

Imran

Thanks for mentioning other threads. I find the Search engine on this discussions site another irritating User Experience. I dislike starting new threads when someone has already started a topic, but despite 3 different searches using relevant error, com.apple.blah-blah words, and so on it showed Zero results. Maybe the search database is not updated quickly and those threads got indexed after my post. Glad you made the effort to bring the topics together.

Sweet… board’s broken and won’t let me edit my reply. Here’s an addendum:

What i’ve noticed the last couple of days in my everyday OS user account is that if i crash it on purpose once early in the day, submit the crash report, then don’t do another Spotlight search for a few minutes, then after that, Spotlight continues to work without triggering this crash. Today when i was demonstrating it for my brother, it crashed several times in succession. Just now i called up Console and crashed it again.

Experiment for others to try: crash it once (use Spotlight) early in your usage of your Mac after startup, then don’t use Spotlight for something like half an hour or more. Try it later in the day and see whether it crashes. Seems like once it gets into the repeating crash cycle, it stays there until the next restart (or logout—i did not test logout/logins).

Another weirdness: the crashes usually come in pairs (spaced 10 seconds apart), but i’ve had a few singular crash reports. I have not been able to determine what the difference is between the pairs and the singles.

Exact same issue here.

In my case, I move the Problem Report box to other desktop screen (I have 4 desktop screens) without clicking the "OK" button. After that, spotlight works normally for the entire day. At the end of the day, I turn off my MBP and turn it on again the next day, and the same problem happens and I do the same thing. Sounds ridiculous, but I really do not have the expertise to tinker with my machine.

I hope Apple come up with the solution ASAP. This is getting too long.
