assistive touch freezes after update to iOS10.2

Hello,

Earlier I had an issue, which I observed after updating my iPhone 6S to 10.1.1

- The Phone app freezes, nothing can be done - until you kill the app (double click and swipe off)

- Secondly when you go to contacts app, you cannot search by typing name. The only solution for Contacts app search to be fixed is by doing a soft reset. But even that will work hardly 2 days, after which Contacts app doesn't allows to search.

Now after updating to iOS 10.2 yesterday, that issue has been resolved. Not seen it until now (keeping my fingers crossed).


But I observed another issue: Now the assistive touch is freezing.

The assitive touch becomes unresponsive and does not works. it doesn't recognize your touch. Only after you press the home button and change the orientation from Portrait to landcsape or vice versa, that it starts working again.

But this repeats after some time and you need to repeat the above steps again so as to get it started.

Has anyone observed this issue ? If yes, is there any other way to fix this or we need to wait until the next update.

Guys, Apple doesn't read forum comments to check and fix issues experienced by users!

So let Apple know about this apparent bug and file a real bug report so they get aware of this issue and fix it in The upcoming update!

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have tried to toggle Assistive touch ON/OFF from the settings.

Also I have done a soft reset of my phone by pressing the Power and Home button (long press) until phone restarts.

But still this didn't resolve the issue.

I noticed one more thing that this issue occurs for me mostly in Whatsapp application more than else where (until I press & drag assistive touch to another location or kill the active apps, this problem solves temporarily).

Yes, also I keep my phone surface dry and clean from dust, oil, etc.

Hey guys,


guess what, the assistive touch on my 6s still hanging and now it's even worse. I brought it to an authorized apple service center and they advised me to have my iPhone restored or else they might have to run further diagnostic tests. They also told me that it could be a hardware issue if restoring the phone won't fixed the issue.


I was like Wow, I bought this 3 weeks ago and now I got this because of the 10.2 update. Just. Wow.

Hi,

I actually my new iPhone 6s to ios 10.2 a week ago (week of 26th December). The assistive touch hangs from time to time when I'm texting. So I am using my home button whenever it is hanging.


Even after a hard reset, i am facing the same issue. Will there be any fix on this in coming IOS 10.3 version?


Please let me know.

SAME HERE.

Same issue after updating to iOS 10.2

Sad news is just got my week old iPhone 7 Plus. After 10.2 had been released I updated it, and boom. issues issues.


The issue is being encountered when I'm (mostly) when in SMS and other apps messenger.

Action Done:

1. Hard reset. Reset phone. - Don't work. Issue still there.

2. Turn on and off assistive touch - Don't work. Issue still there.

3. Turn off 3D touch on assistive touch/Set no option for assistive touch - Don't work. Issue still there.

4. Restore from backup - Thinking this might make no sense as already someone already did this step but issue is still there.


Hoping we could received a fix very soon as this is an annoying bug which makes it feels like you are holding a cheapo device which don't function well even a simplest.


Appreciate if we could any from the admins.
